🌊 Amazing Whale & Dolphin Watching Experience with Biosean! 🐬🐋
I recently went on a whale and dolphin watching tour with Biosean, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the very start, their professionalism stood out—especially when I was worried about the weather due to a rain alert from the Gobierno de Canarias. They responded promptly, even personally calling me to reassure me.
The tour began with a detailed and engaging briefing, which set the stage for what was to come. At first, it was a bit disappointing as we didn’t see any whales or dolphins for quite some time. However, the crew was incredibly persistent, determined to find them. And their efforts paid off! We eventually came across a group of whales, which we had plenty of time to observe. A highlight was listening to their underwater communication through a hydrophone—an incredible and educational experience.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, a large school of dolphins appeared and playfully followed our boat for a long time. I really appreciated that the crew didn’t rush back to shore just because our scheduled time was up. Instead, they extended the tour, ensuring we had a truly fulfilling experience.
Another huge plus is that Biosean focuses entirely on marine life observation—unlike some other tours that dedicate the last hour to swimming in a bay. The fact that they have marine experts on board and actively contribute to scientific research makes the experience even more special.
Overall, this was a truly unforgettable adventure, absolutely worth the extra investment compared to other providers....
Read moreBioSean offers a whale-watching experience that stands out for its ethical and respectful approach to marine life. What I appreciated most was that there were no guarantees of seeing whales or dolphins, it was about enjoying the moment and connecting with nature.
We were lucky enough to spot dolphins, whales, and even a sea turtle during our tour. One of the highlights was listening to whale sounds, possibly through sonar, which made the experience even more magical. The crew emphasized observation over intrusion, there was no feeding or chasing of the animals, which aligns perfectly with my values as someone who cares deeply about wildlife.
The tour was intimate, with only 9 people on board a small speedboat, making the experience feel very personal. The booking process was seamless and friendly. Communication handled easily via WhatsApp. Due to the weather, we were asked if we could reschedule, which was a very easy change, and we were even given a small gift as a thoughtful gesture.
One drink was included in the price, and there was also a photographer on board capturing beautiful moments (though purchasing photos is optional, and you can opt out if you'd prefer not to be photographed).
If you’re looking for a sustainable and authentic way to experience the rich marine life around Tenerife, BioSean is an excellent choice. It’s not just about spotting wildlife, it’s about appreciating them in their natural habitat without disrupting...
Read moreHaving done similar tour in the Azores, we're a bit disappointed. The whales here are smaller, bigger packs of them, faster to appear, and disappear, more of them. Azores whales are fewer, slower, enormous. They swim in time. Blow, arch, tail up, click/photo (the tails are ID), dive. Wait 5mins, they're back. Nice. Also, Azores has 1000s of dolphins that followed our boat, 1m away. Great fun. No dolphins here.
This 2.5hr/55E tour is still a very good experience however. Our guides (2 of them) had the right balance of education, advocacy, and entertainment. (Picking up garbage felt good too). A brief overview, 10min full-roar out to the sea, the hunt begins. Not 10mins later, we're idling amongst pods of whales.
When the weather is good, sea calm, sun shining it's simply nice to be in a boat. The hydrophone is a nice touch, listening to the fishes talk. The cold drink was much appreciated; we needed it, the sun was pounding away, the boat is open, pontoon/rubber style, full exposure.
Gratis all day parking (!!) in dirt lot 300m from dock (I'm sure it's pay during high season). The town is calm, relaxed, lots of tables for coffee, lunch, rocky beaches (lots of nudity), easily accessed, folks just chilling out on a warm sunny January day. Much better than the competitive chaos of...
