What a sadly disappointing eating experience. We had lunch, a set lunch with chef's choices at Lilium and left feeling unhappy after what we thought to be an unsatisfactory experience. The waitress explained what the chef was offering and we accepted this offering. The starter was Corn Soup which was unpleasant in its texture and taste being thick and lumpy and overly salted. One diner did not eat it and the other did but did not find it satisfying. What we found peculiar was that the waitress paid no attention to the virtually untouched serving of soup. This is a first for us, any restaurant, especially one sporting a Michelin reference outside its doors should be interested in its customer's response. This we think was unaccpetable. The main of Hake, was to come served with a veloute sauce which in our experience should be a smooth, buttery sauce but we were served with a congealed yellow substance which was more like a split custard, this was however edible but only average in taste and delivery. One diner in advance of dessert, asked to have an alternative to that offered as part of the set menu, making it clear that an extra payment would be forthcoming only to be told that the dessert was already prepared and so declined any dessert. Much to the amazement of both diners, the dessert was brought to the table and set in front of the diner despite a request to forego any dessert. Why this happened we are unsure but it sat uneaten and was a source of amazement and indeed bemusement. Again there being evidence of a disregard for the customer. We are diners with experience, we eat out regularly, and often in Michelin starred establishments. We found this experience to be disappointing, exasperating at times and not customer...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Lilium with some friends, and let me tell you — it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality, setting the tone for a fantastic evening.
We were lucky enough to be looked after by two incredible and charming waitresses — both named Sandra — who made us feel at home right away. Their professionalism, combined with a light-hearted and friendly approach, was just perfect. They helped us navigate the menu and wine list with incredible precision, deep knowledge of the ingredients, and a wonderful patience in explaining everything, even though we don’t speak Spanish. It really felt like they wanted us to have the best possible experience, and we absolutely did.
As for the food — it was simply outstanding. The tartare was unbelievably fresh, and the pig dish was genuinely unforgettable — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. All the other dishes lived up to the same high standard, each beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.
But what struck me the most — beyond the food, the wine, and the atmosphere — was the kindness and warmth of Sandra. Her attentiveness and sincerity turned a great meal into a truly memorable night. It’s rare to be treated with such genuine care, and it made all the difference.
Thank you, Lilium — we’ll...
Read moreI am still savoring and reminiscing every single dish I had at my dinner last night. I decided on the tasting menu and it is truly, in my opinion, the only way to have the best experience. The tuna was so fresh and buttery, it instantly melted when having it. The star for me was the ‘codero’- the lamb. It was roasted to perfection, tender and crusted with the fatty part of the lamb. The gravy was sweet and was balanced with the creaminess of the mashed potatoes. If you are not a fan or lamb I still would not skip this plate because it was not ‘Game-y’, as lamb tends to be. The plaza in wish it’s located is very lively but Lilium seems to be ‘the odd one out’ as it seems more of area for sports bars and night clubs. That being said, it did not take away from the experience, it added context to the culture and the marina was a beautiful setting. I cannot wait to tell my friends about this place. Service, like everything, was also impeccable and attentive. Chef Orlando came around and greet everyone and it was a nice to thank him for a perfectly curated meal and experience. The one thing I probably wouldn’t have again is the ‘sama’ or a sea bream. I love white fish but it might have just been a too different to what I’m used to. It was similar to a bacalo , flavorful,...
