SHAHA — Restaurant in Barbate

Terrible experience and would not eat here again.

We found the staff abrasive; menu was expensive and very small portions.

They had no fish due to storms and bank holidays but also half of the dishes we ordered were not available even after being offered. So, it was effectively pork slices or scrambled eggs with something. We would not have eaten if we knew it was only these available to eat for our party.

We left after two hours hungry and had to have a pizza afterwards.

€108 for a salad, scrambled egg and cold pasta ... for 4 adults. €4.50 for a large beer to us is way over priced for Los Canos. They did not seem to cater for children - we had to insist on something small for our 3-year-old. Which felt like an attempt to increase the bill payment.

If the supplies are not there they should have just not opened and cancelled our reservation. If there was a concession or reduction in bill then it would be a different outcome.

Hopefully with better supplies the good ratings are warranted - but I can only rate our experience that night which was...

We had a lovely night at Shaha. The food and wine was fresh, delicious and well priced with healthy and vegetarian/ vegan options if you’re after that. The staff were incredibly friendly and explained anything we didn’t understand in English for us as our Spanish is limited.

Si amas la gastronomía y quieres degustar los productos típicos de Cadiz es el lugar perfecto. El patio, el ambiente y el servicio del restaurante son impecables, te preparan para disfrutar de lo que después nos ha parecido una de las mejores cenas que hemos disfrutado en la zona. Probamos el Tajín de Lubina, el pescado cocinado en su puntito perfecto, el juego de los sabores de las especias, el barro y la suavidad de la patata nos resultó simplemente una delicia que no podíamos parar de disfrutar. Los chipirones en su tinta y el revuelto de champiñones maravilla totalmente sabrosos, compartimos los tres platos, las raciones fueron muy generosas. Puestos a disfrutar terminamos con tres postres, tarta de chocolate, tarta árabe … y el helado de canela sinceramente una experiencia sublime al paladar de estas cositas que sabes que solo vas a probar en este lugar y que no te puedes perder si quieres cerrar la cena con un broche espectacular.
