We have just eaten at your place. The atmosphere was nice and most of the food was very good. However, we were disappointed with the tuna steak. We were told it was fresh, and as you may know, fresh tuna should be served raw inside and only lightly seared on the outside. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The first steak was overcooked, and after the second attempt it still wasn’t fresh red inside. On top of that, it had a slightly unpleasant smell. This makes us believe that the tuna was not handled properly, and that something went wrong in the process of keeping it fresh.
We tried to explain this to the waitress, pointing out that fresh tuna steak should look like the tartar we had also ordered (see the picture)— which was fresh and had that bright red color. The comparison between the tuna tartar and the tuna steak clearly showed either that the chef does not know how to cook a tuna steak properly, or that the steak was not fresh and was deliberately overcooked to kill bacteria.
In the end, we still paid for the tuna steak, even though we didn’t eat it, because we want to support the work being done. Still, we hope you take this as feedback — either to ensure your tuna is truly fresh, to store it correctly, or not to serve it if quality is uncertain. Maybe it was just an unlucky day for your tuna steaks.
Apart from that, we enjoyed the rest of our food (especially the tuna tartar and bread with tuna), and the service was nice. The only thing we didn’t appreciate was being told the fish was “super fresh,” when the clear comparison on the table showed otherwise. Such arguments felt illogical and left...
Read moreDidn’t read any of the reviews as I came across this place while walking up from the beach. I went twice. First time I had the tuna. I prefer my tuna medium rare but it was not overcooked. Had the white prawns as a starter. They’re okay but I suspect they were the Moroccan ones rather than the Huelva ones but I’m happy to stand corrected. Service was very good. Went again on a Sunday and I think it was the only restaurant open in the town. Really nice service and I had a decent paella. Yes I’ve had better but I’ve had a lot worse as well. The views are really great so get there early evening or maybe even better for lunch. Certainly not the cheapest but I think...
