Basilicata, empanadas y algo más — Restaurant in Barcelona

The best empanadas I have had in Barcelona so far. Period. And I have been hunting for them for more than a year now.

Got the recommendation for this place from a local contact. It's not too far from my place so decided to walk there one of the days. It's a small place with some seating available inside.

Very friendly and welcoming owner and staff. Everything in the place is good, even the coffee. The empanadas are to die for. Thin crust and enough filling to make every bite worth it. My favorites would be the ternera, picadillo and pollo picante. The pastries are great as well. The carrot cake I tried was fantastic with a really tasty frosting. Oh and great Panetonne as well if guy can catch then during the festive season.

Stumbled upon this underrated hidden gem while walking around this neighbourhood. Warmly greeted by the friendly owner who gave us his recommendations and translated the food items on display to english for us. Traditional and rustic ambience.
