Devoto — Restaurant in Barcelona

Food: the humus was really good, rest of the food was good but nothing wow. The tiramisu is interesting because of the way it was served but otherwise is just a small expensive portion. The potatoes that come with the meat were not fully cooked. Cocktail portion was so small-you can see it’s the same small glass as the water glass. Service: ohh this was not good. The only good waiter was the blondish guy. The dark haired guy and the girl seemed stressed the whole time and in a bed mood.. we had to rush through meals due to their one hour and half policy.. not good, not good Ambient: the temperature was a real problem. It was freezing cold! We asked them to please do smth about it, they did move the ac to 24 degrees but it continued being freezing last night. The table next to us all put jackets (luckily they had jackets with them) as we didn’t as it’s July in BCN and didn’t think we need them haha...

A nice place well-decorated. Unfortunately, food and cocktails were disappointing and atmosphere loud, echoing. The Moscow mule and margarita were totally watery and with no decorations (not even salt on the glass). Sadly, food was mediocre too. The milanesa was bland, the patatoes not well cooked, the polenta was okeish and morcilla with gorgonzola was not balanced (the gorgonzola covered even the strong taste of morcillo). It's rare for me to write negative reviews but I arrived to this place with such high expectations because of the stellar reviews that I was hit by the incongruous experience I had. One of the best meals of my life. I went to Devoto on a recommendation of a friend, and I'm so glad I did! I got the mango/pomegranate salad to start, the grilled octopus for a main, and pistachio tiramisu for dessert. All were perfectly balanced flavors and I am still thinking about it a month later.

I will say, service is different than I'm used to? When I arrived, I waited a couple minutes as the person who was supposed to seat me was outside kissing his girlfriend lol, and I had to wave staff down to order.
