Dos Coyotes - Mexican Birriería | Gràcia — Restaurant in Barcelona

In my opinion, they deserve 4.5 stars instead of 4. Nonetheless, Google doesn’t allow that (yet).

Before I post my review, I’d like to tell those who have never heard of it what birria is. Birria is a Mexican traditional dish. Meat stew or soup, typically made from goat (though you can make it from beef or lamb).

Let’s start with the food. I had the Torta de birria and tequeños to share. To be honest, the birria tastes pretty much the same as the one in Mexico ( please,reader, keep in mind that I’ve tried WAY MANY birria restaurants in Mexico). Therefore, I could say that this is traditional Mexican food full of flavor. The birria was soft and well cooked.

As for the tequeños, although THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MEXICO and people there don’t typically eat them, they were DELICIOUS! Not oily whatsoever and soft. Besides, the chipotle sauce that came with them was perfect.

By now, you may be wondering why I didn’t give them 5 stars. Well, it’s pretty simple. Because I couldn’t make a reservation (they DO take them). I called several times and the phone didn’t work. I tried through Instagram too and they didn’t answer my DM. Hope they can...

Unfortunately this restaurant was absolute chaos today. With only 6 tables in the restaurant we waited 30 mins for a drink ( a draft margarita which takes 1 minute to prepare), our food came before our drinks. This was uncomfortable as 4/6 tables were also waiting for food and drinks and ours came first. Every single table complained, and the vibes became horrible inside the restaurant. Unfortunately very understaffed and you could see food waiting on the pass for a long time before going to the tables. Our second round of drinks never came and we decided to not order our mains because of the slow and disorganised and frankly understaffed floor. The server was very nice and you can see he was struggling so this review is more for the owners. A Saturday lunch, taking many many glovo orders at the same time as trying to run a restaurant isn’t working and it was such a shame as the food and atmosphere was really nice, hopefully...

Mateo's exceptional service elevated the entire dining experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had excellent recommendations. He patiently answered our questions and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. His friendly and welcoming demeanor truly enhanced our evening.

Now, let's talk about the tacos. They were nothing short of amazing! The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, and I couldn't get enough.

The combination of flavors and textures in the tacos was a culinary masterpiece. It's a must-try if you visit.
