This was my 2nd time visiting the Gatsby. First experience were amazing. That’s why I took my friend to have such experience as well. Even it’s very expensive. We was on time. Actually we were first in queue. To be sure we will be there as first to pick a table. As last time we paid €300 for table in front opposite the bar. This time we got very unfriendly, not helpful or even polite hostess. Who bring us on side. Let us wait. Walk around. Other people were seated already. Then come back. I asked for table on front which I did book and asked already when I made booking. She told me that that’s not my choice or her but her manager where we will sit. And she it’s going to ask her. When she come back after let us waiting again. She come back and showed us not a good basic seats. Which we didn’t wanted. Asked for table which I had before. Then I been told price will be €500. Not €300 which they advertise with booking. We didn’t been happy. Didn’t had view for the show. We got waiter who was slow. Spilled our Moet champagne all over the table. Didn’t say sorry or clean a table. So rude. Then we got very young girl who we asked 3-4 times for water and cocktails. We waited over 40mins! I almost passed out how thirsty I was. And needed water. What so difficult about to bring one bottle of water?! Asked another 2 people. Nobody bring it. Asked who did took order. After 45mins and asked about 6 times we got our order! Food was ok. Kind of plain this time, average and mostly unseasoned. Another two waiters again spilled our champagne all over our glasses and table. I felt like in purpose. To waste our drinks to make us buy another one. Non of them say sorry or clean a table again! So we had totally wet table whole nite. Madness. All staff was running around. Like crazy. Pushed into seats, people, each other. Table next to us got a bill. Only €240. So obviously not minimum spending €300 how we been told! We paid €300. Then waiter behind me drop whole tray on floor with bottle and drinks. My back was wet, my clothes. I had glass in my hair and clothes! Nobody cared at all. Ask me if I am ok. Nothing! Absolutely shocking behaviour and costumer care. One waiter next to me saw it. And just come to me and touch me back! That’s all and walk away. Shocking!! Literally shocking. Won’t be back and won’t recommend ever again....

If you're planning a special night out in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Gatsby Barcelona. Behind its flashy facade and high-society branding lies a chaotic, poorly managed tourist trap that prioritizes profits over people. Our experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly urge fellow traveler's to avoid wasting a precious evening here.
We arrived five minutes early for our 9:30 PM reservation—only to be herded into the bar and completely ignored. Despite trying repeatedly to order drinks, the bar staff were dismissive, rude, and clearly overwhelmed. No drinks, no information, just an uncomfortable limbo where guests were left standing and visibly frustrated. On multiple occasions my wife and I were barged into by staff without apology. A truly unpleasant experience.
At 10 PM, the show began, and we were still without a table. When we approached staff, we were met with defensiveness and vague excuses. The only helpful person in the entire venue was the hostess—everyone else seemed preoccupied handling a flood of complaints from other equally annoyed guests.
It soon became apparent that Gatsby engages in a blatant overbooking scam. Staff repeatedly cited the “fine print” that bookings don’t guarantee seating, a conveniently obscure clause they weaponise to justify the chaos. The whole operation feels like a high-pressure upsell machine, where you're subtly encouraged to spend more if you want any chance of being seated or taken seriously.
Rather than a glamorous night out, we found ourselves standing for over an hour, ignored and insulted, in a place that seems to have no interest in actually delivering on what it promises. The environment was tense, with visibly irritated customers and staff in constant defense mode.
Barcelona has over 15,000 restaurants, and this was a tragic waste of time in a city full of genuinely excellent dining and entertainment options. Don’t fall for the Gatsby hype—this place is all show and...
Read moreWorst restaurant I have ever been in my entire life.
We book a table online, when we arrived at the restaurant the receptionist gave us the worst table at the restaurant even though there were more tables available. I kindly asked to be moved to a better table to which she replied that a change of table is 350 euros. I was surprised so I asked why; then she did not explain why but added that it is all written in their website. I was even more confused as I did not see that when I made my reservation therefore I insisted for her to show on my phone where that info was. She did not know what to say, of course, so we asked for the manager. She went to find him but she never found him for the next hour that we were there. Then she came back with another excuse, which made me so angry; she said that the minimum spending for that type of table was 150 euros. Then I said to her to pick one excuse as I was very confused by then. I said to her why she did not say that from the beginning and not treat us as a second class clients who, she though, were not going to spend enough money in their restaurant. Honestly, I have never felt more disrespected in my life so we asked for a complaint form while still waiting for the manager to appear. In the meantime, a waitress approached us to find a solution but gave us another answer to the table allocation system they have. He said that the table we wanted was reserved for “chicas de imagen” whose job is to stay at the table for free by the restaurant doing that gentlemen will find the desire to stay longer at the restaurant as there are pretty girls on it. On top of that on our away out we discovered that no men were dressed appropriately as they were wearing trainers but of course most of them were Arabs. In conclusion, DO NOT WASTE time in going in there because they will judge and discriminate you based on aparecience and citizenship. As I am a black Spanish spoken person they probably though that I did not have the money to be in such...
