Good evening, once a club I loved to go and now the club I despise the most due to the unfriendly security & guards on 2.12.2023. I'll explain my experience. My friends and I, got out of the club for 5min to catch fresh air. It was 1 a.m at that time. The security guard gave each one of us a stamp on the arm as usual. Once we finished our 5min outside we assumed that we can go inside the club again as in every other club. But the security didn't let us. He communicated with another guard. And seems how we were not allowed to get in. We were dressed right according to their "strict" dress code but letting people in with sneakers on that day. Hard to take the club itself serious sometimes. We were not drunk. We had good behaviour. And we just went out for 5min. I tried to communicate with the security in a respectful way and asked him what the logic behind of the stamp is if we get it but can't get inside again? I mentioned to him that our jackets are in their wardrobe and that if we can't go back in, we have still to take our clothes out. And you know what the security answered? He said that we can't get in but we can give him our tickets and someone will get it for us. What on earth? Since when is it ok that someone touches your privat stuff? Never ever in my nightlife, did this happen. When I asked the unfriendly security for the reason, he told me that he does not need to answer my question. Again, unfriendly and disrespectful. Me and my friends who just had drinks there could not enter back again to enjoy our time. And not to forget to mention when we entered around midnight, the floors were sticky and smelled like pee. Now, thinking how the club does advertisements like "fanciest club Sutton in Bcn" is ridiculous. In conclusion, you did not only lose me as your customer but also my friends, anyone and every foreigner who asks us which club to visit - I'll definitely will never ever recommend you again. If you wanna work on yourself. Please clean the toilets and floor few hours before your guest enter. And next please do your trainings well with your security and guards. Because someone who answers me with "There is no reason" is weak. Totally incompetent and weak. I don't care how much load of work there is in the queu. We do our work as your guest, we come in the dress code and we consume for you to profit. And I can't even get an answer because someone is incompetent. If this is the "fanciest" club in Barcelona then treat your guests right without discrimination especially if they already have their tickets and...
Read moreSummary: My experience at Sutton Club on April 1st 2023 was disappointing and frustrating. Despite having paid for wardrobe services and received a stamp for entry earlier in the evening, I encountered unwarranted rejection from the doormen upon my return. This review outlines the issues I faced and my concerns regarding the club's dress code policy.
Detailed Review:
Initial Approval and Subsequent Rejection: Upon arriving at Sutton, I paid for wardrobe services and received a stamp indicating that my outfit was suitable for entry. However, when I attempted to re-enter the club after stepping outside for some fresh air, I was rudely rejected by the doormen. Despite explaining that I had already been approved and that my coat was in the wardrobe, I was denied entry solely because of the brand of clothing I was wearing.
Inconsistent Enforcement of Dress Code: I found the doormen's enforcement of the dress code to be arbitrary and inconsistent. While I was turned away for wearing Adidas clothing, my boyfriend, who was wearing a Nike cap, faced no issues entering the club. This raises questions about the fairness and impartiality of Sutton's dress code policy.
Gender Stereotyping and Beauty Standards: I was deeply troubled by the underlying message conveyed by Sutton's actions. By rejecting me based on my attire, the club perpetuates harmful stereotypes and unrealistic beauty standards for women. The implication that only certain types of clothing are acceptable for entry reflects a narrow and outdated view of femininity.
Lack of Transparency: One of the most frustrating aspects of this experience was the lack of transparency regarding Sutton's dress code policy. Neither the club's website nor its social media platforms provided clear guidelines regarding prohibited clothing brands. This lack of information makes it difficult for patrons to dress appropriately and avoid unnecessary rejection at the door.
Conclusion: In conclusion, my experience at Sutton Club was marred by unwarranted rejection, inconsistent enforcement of the dress code, and perpetuation of harmful stereotypes. I urge potential patrons to reconsider supporting a venue that promotes such narrow ideals of beauty and gender norms. Until Sutton addresses these issues and provides clear and equitable guidelines for entry, I cannot in good conscience recommend this...
Read moreHi there, I had an incredibly bad experience at the bar where it involved buying a drink. The bartender, a tall and brown haired man, misunderstood a drink that I wanted to buy and came back and expected me to pay €56?! I turned around and told him I’m not taking that drink and therefore I’m not paying for it as it was not the drink I ordered. It was clearly a misunderstanding and therefore I couldn’t understand why I was asked to pay for it. I was trying my hardest to communicate with the bartender but he wasn’t talking back to me. He was just forcing me to pay for this drink I didn’t ask for? So he gave me the option to either leave the club or pay for the drink, so I took the option to leave the club, but 4 bouncers had come over and we where conversing with the bartender in Spanish and I couldn’t understand what they where saying but I assume it was about the whole situation but from a very biased stand point. As when I tried to leave the night club, 2 bouncers pulled me back and forced me to pay for a drink. At this stage the bouncers kept threatening to use “CCTV footage” to resolve the issue as they would say “you will hear on the CCTV footage that you asked for that drink”, I said I would happily wait for the police and they can check the CCTV footage but unfortunately it was looking like it was they weren’t going to try and resolve this issue unless I paid for the drink. This continued for another 20 minutes and I was getting nowhere, trying to leave the club but was dragged back to pay for this drink. I tried my hardest, with a calm manner to talk to these people, especially the bartender (who had great English) but they just wouldn’t listen. Eventually, I ended up paying for the drink as I literally had no other option. So I paid for the drink and stayed in the nightclub until it ended, as I wasn’t kicked out because I had done absolutely nothing wrong. But I was extremely frustrated and tried to get an understanding from the bouncers at the end of the night but they where having none of it and kept walking away saying “I’ll be back”.
Barcelona is a lovely city and my stay here has been great. Although, I would strongly recommend travelers to stay away from this nightclub as they have treated me and some of my friends really poorly! Thanks, And...
