Three girlfriends - we went to this place yesterday for dinner. This has been possibly the most absurd restaurant experience of my life and absolutely everything was horrible so hard to summarise, but I'll try in the bullets below: greeted at the entrance by the doorman looking at us as, for some reason, he was better than us. Asked if we had a reservation, once said yes he allowed us in with no smiles or warmth whatsoever. Dinner went on fine, although nothing on the menu was particularly good. Mediocre cuisine that acts like it's a fancy one. After dinner, we go to the bathroom and on the way back we explore the second room of the place where music was played. We left all our jackets and personal effects at our dinner table so it was obvious we were still there and coming back but we were nonetheless chased by the waiter (short, squared glasses, short hair) who was very rude and said we had to pay the check. We therefore went back to the table to pay, and that's where the most absurd part kicks in: check was 196.30, I devide it by three with the calculator and show it to the waiter, showing it's 65,4333333333333 (periodic number) per person. He does the calculus again on his phone as he would not trust me and replies that 'he cannot do 65,43 X 3' as that way the total would be '196,29 and one cent would be missing, and even 1 cent has to be paid'. Despite my astonishment, I reply calmly that I simply showed him the calculus - it should be up to him to know how to divide for three people and that I absolutely didn't mind paying the missing cent - just put it on me. We payed, and after we paid I realised that he made us pay the following breakdown: 65,43 + 65,44 + 65,44. At that point, I flagged to the waiter that he essentially made us pay 196,31 - so given he was so fond of not losing one cent, he decided to steal one from us. No excuses whatsoever, he simply asked a colleague to give us back one cent. To that, I replied that he could of course keep it, but it was a question of principle to highlight how rude, dishonest, and absurd the service had been. Cherry on the cake, communication was very difficult as the waiter could only speak Spanish and he needed translation from a Spanish friend of mine to understand me when I was speaking English. I flagged to him that to work in (pretend-to-be) high end places like that one he should know English and he replied that 'this is Spain'. To that, I replied that I am Italian but I still learnt English to be able to communicate internationally. In summary, tragic service and absurd behaviour. A waiter like that should not be working in a high end restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter) and the managers themselves should be ashamed of how they run the place. I am Italian, live in London and travel extensively for work and I have never seen anything like this anywhere. Trust me, I am rarely this definitive but this place 'is not...
Read moreThe worst service ever. Was discriminated because we spoke English or because we were a young couple or both. And we were dressed to impress may I add. The food was good. But the service was horrible. We had to ask to order food, we had to ask for water all night, we had to ask to order drinks all night, had to ask for the menu, meanwhile three of the staff would attend to the other tables practically licking their behinds. We had reservations for 7pm and then they say there’s no drinks until 7:30, so why start reservations for 7?? Also at 7:30 the drinks arrived for two other tables that came 15min after us, so they took their orders before us.. It’s like the waiters and waitress didn’t want to serve us. Not once did someone check in on us, no one asked how was the food or if you want another drink. I had to ask for the drink menu 3x before someone brought it. It’s like they wanted us to leave.. And to embarrass me at the end, they made me sign the bill after I tapped my card to pay, no one in all of Spain asked me to sign anything. And no where in the world does anyone have to sign when using tap to pay. No one else in the restaurant signed anything. The waitress came back with a random piece of paper asking me to sign after I paid. No one said good bye or nothing when we left. It was also my wife’s birthday and we all know if you tell the staff it’s a birthday that they bring something with a candle but they did not. I would never go here again. The cocktails my rooftop hotel cost more so it wasn’t a matter of spending money. (Which I did). The waitress barely spoke English, I asked for the cocktails menu and they brought me the desert menu. They only gave us one menu to share, meanwhile the other tables had several menus. Terrible/horrible service. I also got stabbed by a sharp piece of glass on my last drink. I made a bit of scene since I was bleeding and no one even bothered to ask what happened (not like I cared at this point) We chose this spot because of all the “wonderful” reviews about how nice it is, but it really wasn’t.. Do not go here if you’re a young couple or speak English. Discriminated against heavy. Felt so disrespected. If I could give negative stars I would. We caused no scene to deserve this, we left no tip since they...
Read moreLast night, a group of four of us decided to treat ourselves to what we thought would be a fine dining experience at Feroz, a restaurant that promised an elegant ambiance and gourmet cuisine. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a chic decor and a seemingly attentive staff. However, the first sign of trouble arose when our appetizers arrived. As we dug into our dishes, we were met with an unsettling discovery: a piece of hair woven into our food. Naturally, we called the manager over to express our concerns, expecting a sincere apology and prompt action.
To our astonishment, the manager brushed it off, informing us that “this is a normal part of food.” I couldn't believe my ears. How could an establishment of this stature consider such a thing acceptable? It was not only unappetizing but also quite unsettling. We can for sure tell if it is normal part of a pig meat or not….
As we continued our meal, hoping that perhaps the main courses would redeem the experience, we found ourselves further underwhelmed. The dishes, despite their lavish presentation, were mediocre at best. Flavors were uninspired, and the ingredients didn’t reflect the quality we had anticipated.
To add insult to injury, the cocktails we ordered were a significant letdown. Priced steeply, they lacked the creativity and flair one would expect for such an expense. They were nothing more than average, which felt particularly disappointing given the hefty price tag.
Throughout the evening, the service also left much to be desired. The staff never checked in to ask how our food was or if we wanted more drinks. It felt as if we were invisible, and our dining experience was far from the attentive service one would expect at a restaurant of this caliber.
In the end, we left Feroz feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. What was meant to be a special night out turned into a lesson learned: sometimes, appearances can be deceiving. For those seeking a memorable dining experience in Barcelona, I would recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of other restaurants that offer both exceptional food and genuine hospitality without the...
