We went to La Jabata as a friend group for dinner. The reservation process online was smooth. However, upon arriving, it turned out there’s a construction outside over the terrace — there was no information about it before. Luckily, there was a table available inside, but we found hiding that info a bad practice (and charging the terrace fee on top). Once inside, the evening became more pleasant. The interior looks luxurious. What was weird is that there is no drinks menu, only wine. We ordered drinks without knowing their price or if they were even available. Then, we had to wait for a long time to get them. Finally, we ordered food. Everything was delicious and fresh. The choice of tapas is overwhelming in a good way. We also tried oysters and they were huge and super fresh. we finished with a dessert — the cakes were outstanding.
The service was a bit slow, forgetting our orders, they brought some of the food at different times which meant some of us were hungry while the rest was already eating.
All in all a good experience which could be made fantastic with improvements to the service, such as having drinks menu, being transparent with clients about the works on the terrace, and more thoughtfulness. The food is impeccable so give this...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing 🤩🤩🤩 You must book ahead, it was very busy in the evening. Tables outside get quite noisy, we very offered a small table near the bar. The food is absolutely amazing, delicious, fresh. No wonder so many people return for the second or third time. We had prawns in garlic oil, padron peppers, tomatoes confit, tomato bread to mop up the juices. The legendary cheesecake did not disappoint. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We will return again as there is so much to try. Goatling ribs sound very intriguing. Would like to try beef chop as well. Edit: We returned again to try the beef and goatling ribs. Steak served on a sizzling plate between rare and medium rare but you could finish it to your liking on the hot plate. Amazing flavour of beef, beats many of steaks back in the UK we had. Thumbs up! Salada Rusa was so tasty and very big portion! Crunchy, salty fried pork belly pieces so nice with cold beer. Goatling ribs were underwhelming. We were hoping for a rack of ribs grilled or braised. They were tiny chops in...
Read moreStumbled upon this place after another Google recommendation had zero atmosphere so kept wandering.. this place was popular and we were quickly served. The food was prompt, as other photos portrayed and good flavour. We had just a few tapas as wasn't very hungry but the Padron peppers were the most flavourful we've had, the patatas bravas were delicious, the garlic prawns were tender and the house red was lovely too! The waiter even opened a new bottle at our table for our glasses. The French toast desert was enjoyable too! The meal was very affordable we felt. €30 total. The menu was mostly in English. We sat outside but inside was also a popular spot with a second floor of seating too. Good service, would recommend for locals and visitors to Barcelona if in the nearby areas!
went back the following day for a wine then later for dinner! Met the owner Fernando, who was lovley! Delicious food once...
