Called in on the recommendation that this was supposedly the best Indian restaurant in Barcelona. Started off promising with a nice cold Kingfisher, however the experience didnât last long. Disappointed with the starter (Onion Bahji) which was overdone and dry but Ok, letâs give them another chance. Once the main courses turned up, the Mrs complained that the mixed Balti she ordered was very salty. Tucking into my Mattar Paneer, it too was extremely salty - to the point where it was burning my tongue salty! We both complained to the waiter who was having none of it and tried to explain it was likely the sourness of the tamarind or the paste they used and is normal - it isnât. Waiter wasnât having any of it - theyâve been here 6 years and this is the first time anyoneâs complained. Even the mushroom rice was ridiculously salted. They swapped both dishes, but were still salty. Apparently living in Bradford, the curry capital of the UK, isnât sufficient to know what a good curry is like. We left the two salty dishes, paid up and went down the street to the excellent Ramen Japanese restaurant which was great and run by some rather friendly Filipinos. I feel sorry for curry fans in Barcelona if this is the best curry they have. Go elsewhere...
Read moreThe food was super delicious, but the service was subpar. To dive deeper, we did not regret ordering anything, as everything we ordered was flavorful, delicious, and comforting. However, we were charged a little over 2⏠for tap water? Not sure if it was for the tap water we ordered or if it was just a fee for something else, but it wasn't something we ordered, and it wasn't explained. It's partially on us too because we chose not to question the charge, as we just spent around 16 hours traveling, and we were exhausted. On top of that, the atmosphere was unique in that the music was inconsistently on and off, and the workers seemed apathetic. In the end, when we asked to pack our order for takeaway, they left out our naan (which may have been a mistake, but on top of our exhaustion and the strange vibes from the restaurant, it made us disappointed in the service). I know I've said a lot about the service, but please don't get me wrong, the food was definitely good, and I would get it again, but probably just...
Read moreCould've been better but for what we got, it was one of the bad restaurants which we visited in Barcelona.
Disappointed with the customer service and taste/quality of food. There are several small Indian restaurants which offer good quality and quantity with an excellent customer service nearby.
First and foremost, the orders were delayed which we understand by the amount of customers that were present but what we expect after waiting for long time is a good tasty food but no. Samosas tasted like the frozen ones which we receive in supermarket and oily. Papadam special biriyani has nothing special about it than cold and bland taste. Asked for few cups of dessert (Rasamalai) which was available only two cups and you should see the response from the waiter. No apology or no asking if we need something else other than that.
Looks like a novice bunch of waiters and management, teach them how to be friendly and have a smiling face. Total disappointment!
2 stars only for...
