Parlament Cuina de Barri — Restaurant in Barcelona

The restaurant is very cosy and beautifully decorated. However, the service and food left a lot to be desired. Our waiter was very friendly and obviously doing his best but we often felt like we'd been forgotten. The food was disappointing. Many of the items on the menu were not available (including on the wine list). One of the dishes we ordered was a hamburger 'El pepito'. This was the worst dish I have ever been served in a restaurant in my life. The 'hamburger' was basically two miniscule pieces of beef accompanied by two tiny padrón peppers, served on the type of bread you would get a cheap hot-dog on. It came with patatas bravas which were fine, yet served without any sauce. The price of this dish was 13.50€. If I were paying the full price (I was not; I had a discount with El Tenedor) I would have sent it back immediately. Even with the discount it was overpriced. We told the waiter that we were disappointed with it and he said that we weren't the first to give such feedback so they will look into changing the dish. What a disappointment! On the street famed for the lovely, local food, this place tries hard to be something that it’s not. None of the food ordered tasted right. Croquettas arrived lukewarm and really dense...like supermarket-bought. Tortilla with sobresada and honey was hard set even though the waiter asked how we would like it cooked (we said runny). There was just enough sobresada in there to add colour, but not the flavour. Tuna tartare was really odd, with sweet soy sauce, pine nuts, chopped avo and quail egg. Not the flavour profile you want. The best dish was definitely the eggs with potatoes and sausage. The sausage was lovely and full of flavour. G&T get served in a regular glass with a bottle o Schweppes tonic next to it. This is barcelona, so I expect a nice coppa with lots of garnish! Not an ordinary pub drink. Shame. Definitely a turn off for me. Try Els Sortidors del Parlament, 150m down the...

If I could put 0 stars I would! Worst service that I have experienced in my life. The waiter was EXTREMELY RUDE and condescending. He did not allow us to sit for further than 40 minutes because we had to order food otherwise we couldn’t stay! We wanted to order food but the service was so bad that we didn’t want to stay anymore! After 40 minutes he came asking if we would order food or he would bring us the bill. We asked for the bill and he did not allow me to pay with one of my cards by shouting at me NO! (because it was my company’s card) all of this time we were as nice as possible to him even though he treated us like TRASH! I wouldn’t recommend this place at all! Finally if you don’t know how to treat your customers or with at least the minimum respect it’s better not to work in this sector!! Just awful and very disappointed as it seems a decent...
