La Güerita Mexicana in Barcelona was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. The waitstaff, in particular Ada/Aida (sorry if I spelled your name wrongly), were incredibly friendly and patient as we tried to speak Spanish, though they also spoke English when needed. It made the experience even more enjoyable!

The food was simply amazing. We started with the nachos, which were crispy and loaded with all the right toppings—perfect for sharing. The tacos, as our main dish, were phenomenal; each variety was packed with flavor, from the tender chicken to the juicy cochinita, and the al pastor had that perfect balance of sweet and savory. Every bite was a burst of authentic Mexican goodness.

To top it all off, the desserts were heavenly. The tres leches was rich and moist, the cheesecake made with maize flour had a wonderful texture and unique flavor, and the sweet tacos filled with banana and Nutella were the perfect indulgence to end the meal.

I was really craving chilaquiles and this place hit the spot! The food is very authentic and delicious. (I’ve lived in Mexico for a year and travel to Yucatán often for work). The cuisine has a Yucatán focus but they have your favorites as well. The cochinita pibil (stewed pork typically cooked underground) was very flavorful and well seasoned. Most excellent! The chilaquiles didn’t disappoint flavor-wise and even the half portion was filling! One disappointment is that I asked for no media crema and there was A LOT of media crema under the meat. But I love when places bake the chilaquiles and they do that well. (I’ve spent a lot of time eating chilaquiles all over Mexico). The flautas were great! The tacos de rajas were a disappointment. It’s mostly corn not rajas and I found the flavor off putting. Also the tortillas were not my fav. I’d stick to the dishes with tortilla chips or friend tortillas since I think getting fresh tortillas is a challenge. I’ll end on a positive note—they provide 3 tasty salas that provide excellent burst of flavor...
