Depending on what you order, the food can be extraordinarily plain.

We tried the steak and the duck breast and both cuts of meat were both tough and rather bland. While the plating looks gorgeous, the food was pretty mediocre. The menu described the duck being seasoned or topped with truffle but there was no evidence of it. The majority of the steak was silver skin and essentially impossible to eat. We asked for a sharper knife, and the waiters brought a dull steak knife for us, which still wasn’t very helpful in cutting the meat. The artichoke that came with both dishes looked so caramelized and crunchy, but is totally inedible as it’s so hard and tough.

The tapas and sides were decent, we enjoyed the croquetas and calamari, but the bread we ordered was extremely hard and tacky, not to mention very cold.

Most of the pasta and seafood dishes looked very good however, we just didn’t have the stomach space to try them as we were...

If you're not a young, attractive female, make sure you have a reservation before going here.

We were in a queue with 2 couples ahead of us - none of us had made a reservation. The first couple was 2 guys who were told they would have to wait an hour or more to get seated. The second couple was 2 attractive ladies- they were told they would get a table in 5 minutes. Then there was us - we're a married couple in our sixties. We were told that there was no space and we could wait around for an hour or more, or we could make a reservation for a couple of hours later .....

They were not very nice to either the first couple of guys nor to us!

So as I noted before, if you're not attractive females, and you really want to try this place, make a reservation ahead of time; otherwise you can do what we did, which was to go to El Jardi de Can Toda, which was fine for us - I posted a good...

After being turned away from Park Guell for not buying ticket’s early enough, we found our way around the block to this little gem. And I do mean gem. This place was like a hidden jewel in the middle of residential area. The food was all delicious. The mussels were gobbled up mainly by my eight year old. The burrata salad surprised us with an enormous piece of soft creamy burrata for the value. I ordered the Pork dish with peppers and potatoes, nothing short of amazing pork, excellently seasoned, cooked to perfection; it was great. My wife ordered the seafood risotto, and it turned out better than the paella we had the night before. Even my boys had, the pasta bolognese, and it was nothing short of fantastic. I ended up finishing that off after my 8 year old couldn’t finish it all.

I highly recommend this place for anyone in the area of Park Guell. It was a great value...

Food was actually very good. The Spritz I ordered was also very refreshing. But, the bad review stems mainly from the hidden charges. Extra charge for eating on the terrace, extra charge for water (we were given an open bottle of water so can't be sure if it was actually mineral water or not)and the most outrageous was the extra charge for bread which is ridiculous considering I ordered Pasta in an Italian restaurant. The service was very very slow but that may be because there was one nice lady (very charming and courteous) waiting up on the whole restaurant plus clearing the tables and taking the payments. So, in all, good food, good cocktails, good staff (the one soldier holding the fort) but beware of the hidden costs and also of the quantity on the plate (again, not very satisfying compared to the sea of Italian restaurants all over the place).

My gosh…. Please take the time to take the path less traveled when in Barcelona. After a weeklong visit to this magnificent city eating ok tapas near all the tourist traps I decided to ask the internet of a good local, fair priced eatery near Park Güell. I stumbled upon an article from devour I believe, pointing us to 5 different spots near the park. We decided on Terra Mia and were blown away! A short walk above the park into a neighborhood just beyond the tourist buzz. The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing! The local meat platter is a must! We also had the lobster pasta and homemade ravioli. Walking away we were already planning our next meal. 5 out of 5 stars! If you’re visiting the park first, be sure to exit at the top or you will have to walk down and back up around. If you’ve been there, you know that is not an easy feat.
