San Telmo — Restaurant in Barcelona

The food was great, but the service was a letdown. We went there for dinner after seeing a sign advertising they were showing the Champions League. I reserved a table to avoid any issues. When we arrived and I confirmed we wanted to watch the game, I was rudely told, "You should have mentioned that in the reservation." How would I know if they didn't ask me before and promote it publicly?

I decided to overlook that and we were seated, but then things went downhill. Our starters were served alongside the main course, which even though is not great, wouldn't be a problem if the waitress didn't place the new plates on top of the ones we were still using (while there was food on them). They changed the condiments on the burgers without asking or informing us. Additionally, they kept removing items that weren't empty, including a bottle of water, while we were still eating.

When we asked for the bill, it took 20 minutes to arrive, despite the staff rushing us throughout the meal. Great food, but the poor service makes it not worth a return visit.

If you needed that table so much, you should have told us and sat us...

Guys, don't be fooled by the fact that the cafe is in the city center! This is a place where people steal things right from the cafe! And the employees pretend that it doesn't concern them. They will pretend that they will call the police, but in fact, they see you as just a tourist who will show a little dissatisfaction and leave! I say this as someone who has personally experienced all the indifference of the staff, and personally the manager of the establishment, who tried to do everything to avoid unnecessary attention to the problem. They didn't even want to raise the cameras, citing the safety of personal data! Can you imagine greater nonsense? 🤦🏻‍♂️ At the same time, I got the distinct impression that this is nothing new to them! As a result, if you are worried about your safety and personal belongings, then right next to you there are places that value their customers, their comfort and personal...

Very unpleasant and unprofessional staff. Me and my group of friends often come to this bar to have some drinks before going to have dinner in a restaurant nearby but yesterday they basically told us to leave because my friend booked for 8 people but more of the other friends that were supposed to meet us directly the restaurant joined us there instead. We were consuming wine , food and also some tapas, and those unhappy people came to basically scold us because we were more than expected. We were forced to finish our orders and leave as soon as possible because they were watching us like we were rats coming from the sewers (we are all professionals and polite people living in spain since many years).
