Tast Gastro Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

Greasy and salty food, the hospitality was awful. I was placed on a table in the corner with no table set up. After receiving the menu I was left for 15 minutes with no drink or wine order. Just as I was about to leave the waiter came over, he was rude and unhelpful. When I tried to explain I was done with a plate he didn't bother to listen and walked away. I was left for another 15 to 20 minutes before I quit and decided to just leave - I ended up paying at the till. I was looking foward to this place and was left disappointed. I was treated a lot worse by this waiter than other customers so much so, I wondered if it had something to do with my race... This was a terrible experience that ruined my evening. Wouldn't recommend! *Thank you for your comment, I'm afraid I do not agree, you had 3 tables and two tables outside when I arrived and an additional table when I left (if that's busy to you I am wrong here). I was recommended these disheses having asked your waiter for advice. I stand by my comments. If your staff can have a person feeling the way I did to that extent ( I know that feeling) something is very very wrong, I'd encourage you to look into it. Finally positive reviews from regulars does not mitigate bad treatment...

We had been exploring in Barcelona, as this was our first time to visit Europe. We had been walking for around two hours and decided to stop here.

The patatas bravas (pictured) are the best ever! Garlicky sauce along with a tomato-based sauce over piping hot fried potatoes was so delicious. We ordered the same thing at a more expensive restaurant near the beach and were SO disappointed.

The salmon fajita was more like a salmon wrap. It wasn't hot, and the lettuce inside was more of a spring mix which had some bitter pieces. Some may like that, but I didn't. My husband liked it, however. There wasn't a lot of salmon either, but the starter outshone the main course.

We also got garlic shrimp. Flavorful, but I can't eat shrimp that's not deveined. Again, my husband didn't mind and rather enjoyed that. The flavors were good. I just couldn't get passed the shrimp needing to be deveined.

The service was pleasant. Initially, we were the 2nd table of guests, with one being a man by himself. The atmosphere was casual, but a table of ladies arrived, and they seemed to be dressed up a bit. Fair pricing. I would return and definitely get the patatas bravas again...

Me and my girlfriend just moved to the neighbourhoods a couple of months ago and we already visited this place around 10 times. The dishes they serve are full of flavour and the quality of the ingredients are really good. We use to enjoy the degustation menu and for us is one of the best quality price (and just quality too) we have experienced. Also paellas are really tasty too. A mandatory visit if you want a really good experience in the centre...
