We were in the Irish bar next door, when we always passed we always said it looks amazing we need to book one night, it was our last night and decided to pop in, we spoke to the owner and it was fully booked sometimes up to a season ahead. But he told us some dinner guests were about to leave and that we could have a table around 10pm, we went back to the Franc & Ellie’s for a drink. About 9.40 he came to us and told us we had a table and we could go back when we were ready, fantastic effort from him. We got our table. The wonder knew the menu of the top of his head. And the chef in the restaurant was trained by none other than Marco Pierre White, we were served wine which we took a bottle from which was so incredible dry and smooth. Delicious. Service was immaculate. Food was superb. Lynn and I both had starters, Lynn had the Lobster and crayfish and I had the chicken strips and garlic and ketchup, ps if you love your food but not huge amounts tell them because the starters are massive, truly was incredible. We both had the steaks , homemade fries and fresh veg. The presentation itself was excellent too, quite arty ☺️, I can’t remember the sweet I had but it was some biscuit chocolate combo. Was delicious. Honestly if you love your food you will love this place if you like small portions tell them as they are huge. Service is fantastic.
PS. YOU HAVE TO BOOK MONTHS IN ADVANCE THEY PRIMARILY TAKE ONLY BOOKINGS AND ARE REGULARLY BOOKED UP FOR THE NEXT SEASON THE SEASON BEFORE.
One thing I was impressed with was the knowledge the owner knows about the menu, the food what was on the menu, the drinks. He knew it all didn’t need to look at a menu or anything....
Read moreStarted well when you are given a glass of fizz when seated. Service is very friendly, asking if we had any allergies. Mains were BBQ ribs and ribeye requested medium. Food arrived and looked good, ribs came with no sauce on them and no BBQ rub, so plain ribs and a small portion of no doubt bottled BBQ sauce on the side, why not baste the ribs before serving because It's impossible to eat ribs with a knife and fork so how you are meant to use the sauce is a mystery. The ribs seemed undercooked at the bone and a bit pink for my liking. Steak was overcooked and waiter did say he reckoned it was medium well, I thought it was nearer well done. Steak replacement was better but let down by cold corn on the cob and soggy fries and another small portion of pepper sauce on the side. Lemon meringue pie looked good but soggy base and little taste to it. The problem I think is the service staff and the decor are way better than the food, and maybe this leads to the inflated ratings and people less likely to complain face to face. A restaurant that has steak in its name you would expect them to be able to cook one at the...
Read moreWe had the most amazing meal and experienced excellent service here at iconic steak and lobster. I had the special of surf and turf, half lobster and sirloin steak. My partner had the t-bone steak. It was the most delicious meal we have ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned well.
Niko the owner was super helpful and all the waiters were so attentive and really made it a special experience. I was not sure about cracking the lobster myself, the waiter kindly offered to help and put on the gloves provided and cracked it helping us to taste the most fresh lobster.
We could not rate this place higher honestly. Such a lovely romantic setting too, we will definitely be back. If you want the best steak you have ever had, along with 5 star service. You simply have to visit here. Out of this world. Lots of lovely Irish bars in the area for a...
