Restaurante El Cordero — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Awful dining experience. The name of the restaurant is El Cordero--so figured the lamb must be great. I was dead wrong--had the worst lamb chops I've ever had. They were mostly fat, gristle and some tough meat. Probably 4 or 5 small pieces of somewhat edible meat from 5 lamb chops. I had to request a sharper steak knife because the first one could not saw through them. The garlic sauce on the side was oil with some garlic flavoring and not very good. At the bottom of the menu, it said potatoes and vegetables came with it. For some odd reason, they gave my dining partner who had pork, a bowl of peas and carrots, but the lamb chops came with 3 slices of raw tomatoes and a few pieces of raw onion with no seasoning. Those were the 'vegetables' I was told. Luckily the Spanish potatoes were good or I would have been hungry when I left. The service was perfunctory but rather cold and unfriendly. We were largely ignored and had to flag down someone for anything. We live locally but will never go again, nor would I ever bring...

Travelled a long distance to return to this restaurant. Before making the journey, we tried serveral times to make a reservation. NO COMMUNICATION , EVER. On arriving we were told they were full (even though there were several empty tables) at 9.20. We asked how we could make a reservation if there is no communication on their end. We were told that when the restaurant is “full full” they don’t answer and turn off the phone. By that logic, to cancel/reschedule/book in advance they also make it impossible. Baffling! Apart from the bad attitude from the staff on arrival, we ate at the restaurant next door, to see it was also untruthful, as the empty tables remained that way for the rest of the night and they were the first restaurant to be cleared out and closed. Obviously won’t be returning, the 5 of us were happy with the service and food at El Karmen nextdoor. Just to note, we were not the only possible clients...

I recently visited this restaurant and was extremely impressed with the service! The staff was exceptionally polite, attentive, and professional, making the entire evening smooth and enjoyable. They responded to our requests quickly and made us feel truly welcome. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious – every dish was prepared with great care and rich in flavor.
