Gecko Beach Shack — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Anti English, which is a shame as it's located in the middle of two massive English themed hotels. We are not typical brits abroad either, Arrived at 3pm, was told over the fence 'four', we walked around for a while in the heat, came back after four, sat down, nobody acknowledged our existence for ten minutes. We were very hot and really needed a drink. Asked at the bar for a menu to be told 'it's on the wall', it was in Spanish, which wasn't an issue, I always try my best with broken Spanish, again, no acknowledgement. We got up to leave, and the other member of staff actually opened the gate slightly further as if they were making a point. The Spanish are definitely sick of tourism, which is a shame as we prop up...

Bad staff and we had one person with us on crutches so couldn’t help bring the drinks to the bar, they still said you all bring it yourselves to the table. Why employ staff that stay for a chat with behind the bar and not serve anyone. If you are the owner reconsider the staff you employ, they won’t help people that come with a disability. I speak Spanish also so if it’s an anti Brit thing I’m sorry but I’ve never come across any other Spanish person that wouldn’t help other people apart from the staff...

I have driven past this place for years...a deserted wooden shack...and that was it! And suddenly there it was! Trendy white beach hut! Obviously situated in a perfect spot. Spectacular views, easy parking. The venue is trendy. Friendly service. Normal prices. Nice people. Good coctails. Can´t fault it. Cherry on the cake is the live music( DJ) in the evening. A nioce place to come, have a chat with your friends, and enjoy your drink and the views. Closes at 02.00 AM, last entry 01.15...
