Habanero Benicàssim — Restaurant in Benicàssim / Benicasim

We were looking forward to visiting the latest addition to the Guindilla group, being big fans, but were left with a sour taste in our mouths. The service was hit and miss, while the waiters were friendly, and we were served by an ample selection of them, it took two attempts just to have a wine order taken and on the table ( 4 waiters). Our food arrived quickly (4-6 waiters), and piled up on the table, and once having taken care of that, the innumerable wait staff decided to leave us be, only reminding us of their presence by knocking my chair every time they passed by. This could be due to the fact that a ' The more, the merrier ', attitude was taken to the number of tables in the restaurant. Coffee and dessert ( 3 waiters). We requested the bill 3 times, ( 3 waiters), however, delivery of the bill 0 waiters. It was eventually settled after we had walked away extremely slowly, knowing they had our contact number. A perfunctory apology was offered for their neglect in failing to offer us the opportunity to settle the bill in the usual manner. The location is wonderful, the food is nice, all the staff were young and friendly. However, the more, the merrier attitude as regards staff and seating, and a lack of professional follow through on the bill would have ensured that even Hemingway would not have returned to ...

Es un quiero y no puedo. Precios altísimos para unas calidades que dejan mucho que desear. La atmósfera es agradable a pero fallan completamente en los pequeños detalles. Para saber más sigue leyendo.

Nada más entrar te miden la temperatura con un termómetro láser, un gesto inesperado y que supongo que intentará transmitir el mensaje que en el restaurante tomamos todas las medidas de precaución. Esto pone el listón muy alto, por lo que se vuelve un arma de doble filo cuando por ejemplo, no hacen que ningún cliente se lave las manos antes de entrar al sitio.

Cuando te sientas te hacen que escanees el código de barras directamente desde el tablet del camarero cuando perfectamente podría estar pegado en la mesa. Esto hace que no des pie ni siquiera a la pequeña conversación que hay mientras te traen las bebidas con la persona o personas que te acompañan. Se siente apresurado.

En cuanto a la carta, la oferta es variada pero parece que solo tienen entrantes o tapas. Nada de platos principales y además a precios desorbitados (a esto voy después). Además, a parte de no ser legible por el tamaño minúsculo de la fuente (no es apto para móviles), la agrupación del contenido está totalmente mal hecha. Por ejemplo, tienen las bebidas donde el desayuno y esto hace que sin quererlo te puedan clavar 3 euros por una botella de agua de un litro.

Y entrando en precios, pedimos el ceviche (17€), ensalada de langostinos (16€) y un par de croquetas de parmesano (2€xun). La ensalada era todo lechuga, no había rastro de pistacho, llevaba 4 langostinos y estaba bañada, digo, literalmente bañada en aceite. Salimos de allí con brillos en los labios. El ceviche tenía tanta cebolla que picaba más que la única rodaja de jalapeño que encontramos y la almeja estaba dura. Decir que el aliño de coco es un acierto y lo único bueno de la noche. Las croquetas... Madre mía, eran minúsculas y tan perfectas que parecían congeladas. Decía además en la carta que eran de parmesano, pero te puedo asegurar que el sabor tan acentuado de este brillaba por su ausencia. De verdad un desastre y un quiero y no puedo.

Finalmente, el baño no tenía jabón de manos y en la barra tienen una alarma que suena igual que cuando entras a un todo a cien cada 2 minutos. Es horrible y distrae constantemente.

Conclusion, reducir los precios porque no lo vale hasta que no miréis bien esos detalles y claveis los platos. Y así luego la decoración y todo lo demás tan bonito que tenéis...

We came to Habanero benicassim to try the new menu/management as we are regular patriates to the sister restaurant - playa chica.

The atmosphere is fantastic, located on the beach and a great destination for a drink. However the food was not spectacular and the service was extremely slow. We waited over 45 mins for our dessert and had to prompt for service several times during our visit. It wasnt particularly busy as we came on a Monday but I couldn't help noticing that each waiter/waitress was covering at least 10 tables.

Overall a disappointing experience as I had high expectations. Would only visit again for a pre...
