We went here for breakfast with four friends, as the reviews looked quite good. When we entered, we told the waiter that we wanted to have breakfast, but since she didn’t speak English, we couldn’t communicate. Then, we were directed to a young woman working at the bar who spoke English. We told her that we wanted to order, and she said we could take a seat and that she would come to take our order.
After we sat down, the same woman who didn’t speak English came to our table again, so we kindly asked for the English-speaking lady. We made eye contact, and she came over. While we were giving our order, she said the other woman already understood us and that we could continue with her. However, since the other woman was only responding in Spanish, we weren’t sure if she really understood, so we asked for the English speaker’s help.
At that point, her tone suddenly became rude and unfriendly. She insisted that the other waitress understood us and that we should continue with her. When we said we weren’t sure about that, the atmosphere became tense. We then said, “If you don’t want to serve us, please just tell us.” In response, she took the menu from our hands and told us to leave. We were literally thrown out.
It was very upsetting to experience such unpleasant behavior on a morning when all we wanted was to enjoy a nice breakfast. Spanish people are usually so kind, warm, and friendly — that’s why we come here almost every year. Of course, we don’t generalize this incident to all Spanish people, but we wanted to share that the two waitresses working in this place were extremely rude and...
