Restaurante El Tamboril — Restaurant in Burgos

We have known the owner for a long time and loved his previous place, "Donde Alberto", which no longer exists. It was a wonderful surprise to see that the same spirit, service, attention to the customers and,of course, their wonderful pinchos, still prevail in El Tamboril. They also offer a daily menu which is very good value for money. Good variety of dishes and excellent cooking! And they make one of the best Spanish omelettes ("tortilla de patata")...

Good location: roughly 40m from a river and a park right next to it. The park makes the restaurant good for families as the one can supervise their children from the restaurant. Algunas tardes de verano las pasó allí porque tienen una terraza "a pie de un parque" muy animado y con todo lo necesario para que se lo pasen bien los peques de cualquier edad pero sin perderlos de vista. Había probado algunas raciones pero ayer me decidí a ir a comer y estuvo todo buenísimo, mención especial a las guindillas en tempuria, menudo describimiento. Hoy hemos repetido con el menú del día, ahora mismo el mejor menú calidad precio, todo lo que hemos comido no solo estaba buenísimo (la ración de empanada y el solomillo con bacon sobervios) sino que nos hemos llenado.

El servicio también es bueno, son super amables y serviciales. Hoy por ejemplo nos han tenido un buen rato esperando a los segundos, no nos ha importado porque estábamos a gusto hablando, reposando pero han tenido la gentileza de invitar al café.

Mi única recomendación es que pongan aire acondinado, tanto el año pasado como este se ve a los camareros pasarlo...
