Gastrotienda Luque — Restaurant in Córdoba

Chanced upon this cute little store and it was such a pleasant surprise! Service is superb, Warm and friendly. Owner offered us olive oil and wine to taste, delivering a patient, detailed passionate explanation of each type. How long each had been aged, the origins, grape type. You can see how much he loves his craft.

The family olive oil is great, high quality. Against the #1 prize winning olive oil, I’d say the family produce tastes even better. They just don’t take part in competitions because of the limited batches they produce.

When I commented on how lovely his service was, he merely replied.. ‘This is what my father taught me to do.’ How heartwarming. 🌹

We visited Cordoba on a day-trip from the coast and were happily surprised by the warm atmosphere of the city. By chance we stopped by Luque gastrotienda - and the service and welcoming attitude from the owner of the shop (and his son) was fantastic. They have great products in the shop - no doubt - and added to that, time to explain the products and ability to taste some of them (including home grown almonds) while engaging (with very little Spanish from my side) in discussions on what to buy, just completed an excellent experience for us. Everything you buy is packed meticulously in case you need to put in a suitcase - and on the way out a cake was added to our shopping back as an extra gift. I love this store. I stumbled inside on my first trip to Cordoba and I bought some lovely lemon themed ceramics and orange blossom olive oil. It's so cute inside, and the shop owners are so kind. I came back to this shop on my second trip to Cordoba for more ceramics to match what I bought before, and the shop owner asked if we came by car, and gave us glasses of local wine to drink when we told him that we took the train. I will definitely be back for more, I'm already planning what I want...
