Two of us had a very lovely dinner at La Tradizione and the staff were generally quite nice and helpful. When our bill arrived, however, I was surprised to see an additional table service charge of more than 3 Euro. Although I’ve grown somewhat used to the annoying charges for bread at restaurants in Spain even when we did not order it, here we received no bread basket and it simply appeared to be a pure fee for us eating at the restaurant. The bill of course was also clear that the fee was not a tip for the servers. Upon investigating these curious fees further, it appears we should have asked for it to be removed from our bill. We already paid a somewhat hefty fee for the food, but at least we knew the price when ordering. I don’t know whether the service charge was disclosed, for when you’re asked to look at the 14-page menu on your phone, it’s not so easy to catch all the fine print.
Edit: I looked back at the menu, which lists a 1.60 Euro pp charge for bread and olive oil. As noted above, we received no bread service. I ordered a salad, which came undressed but I was brought olive oil and vinegar to dress it myself. The pair was then promptly removed so we did not have use of the olive oil or vinegar for the rest of our dishes. I would not expect to pay 3,20 just to avoid eating a dry...
Read moreMy entrecote would deserve 4. But my friend got pasta first with a hair inside. Then she was not happy how it tasted and articulated that. The waiter felt attacked, then even the cook came out twice and showed the pesto.
What I didn't like about the situation is, that the cook is a 1,85 meter men talking in a loud tone to a pregnant woman. Also in Italien without any pause, which no one of us understood that well.
Tbh. I wanted to taste the pasta, but the smell was so heavily garlic that I didn't. It looked also plain.
My friend didn't eat anything, they charges us either way. 17€ for a dish that costed them maybe 1.5€ in making.
It's easy to put much Garlic in the dish, but that is definitely not Italien gourmet. We all were many times in this...
Read moreWe had dinner at this restaurant on Feb 8. Two people. We each took a glass of wine at 6.40 euro and each a pizza at 18.50 euros. The pizza has a thick crust, is oval and not very big. Mine was tomato sauce, rugula and shrimps. I had about 8 to 10 miniature shrimp, salty and overcooked. They were definitely frozen, not fresh. My pizza was way overpriced. My spouse had cheese, some meat and caramelized onion. Lots of onion. It was also overpriced. So 2 glasses of wine and 2 small pizzas was just under 50 euros. We saw dishes of pasta. That might be a better option. There are better restaurant in town. I would...
