We had Esperanza serve us today, and she was efficient and very friendly. Mind you, I was there alone with two small kids (5 and 3) so not your "typical" client. The kids were okay, not on their best behavior but Esperanza took the time to say hello, briefly chat with us and share that she has a child, too. Food: amazing. Mozarabe salad (I need to make one when I go back home) and oxtail with fried potatoes (even my picky 3 year old had some). Wonderful place. Atmosphere: laid-back, no one is rushing you, nice music playing in the background, albeit the air conditioner was broken on the day we visited.

Disappointed. We (2 people) tried to eat and have drinks here, and when we asked for one of several open tables, we were immediately asked if we would eat. We said drinks y a little food and before we could explain more (bc were not sure how much food we wanted to order tapas style and share as we went, depending on quality of food)…immediately we were Told “this is a restaurant” and no further conversation or potential service was welcomed. We speak English and Spanish, so not translation problem. We felt unwelcomed even though we met their food ordering (spending) criteria and always tip very well. So we went across the patio to another restaurant (el extremeno) for our food dishes and vino (y bottela de vino para llevar también). Meanwhile, the empty tables are still there and growing in numbers, when we could have well-paid for Food and drinks. (we spent over 100 euros across the patio and tipped 20 euros…for two people To occupy a table for 45 min) Suggestion: ask questions before assuming about potential guests’ spending habits. We always appreciate good service; we even tipped the free musician on the street next to us 50 euros .(photo is us across patio at el extremeno, where we were welcomed in spite of less available tables)…and la equenita’s empty tables in background. We love supporting by small businesses especially when referred by a local friend, and also love good service and more new friends… Oh well

We ordered chicken flamenquin (chicken meat, cheese, ham etc.). After we ate half of the meal we discovered that inside chicken pieces were totally raw, dispite outside layer was done. After the complaint to the restaurant stuff we recieved only an apology and were offerd new meal. The waiters didnt reflect, that we ate raw chicken at all. After difficult discusion with non-english-speaking waitress, they still let us pay the rest of drinks/food, and we rushed to the nearest pharmacy. Please, avoid this restaurant if possible!!

Hungry and thirsty after an exhausting day’s sightseeing we stumbled upon this fabulous place on a little street north of the Mezquita. Given a warm welcome by Vanessa we were shown to a table in the covered patio with heaters to keep you warm. We ate a selection of delicious dishes including the best aubergine ‘fritters’, albóndigas (meatballs) and sweet, succulent chorizo cooked in wine. Very nice wine by the glass. The service from Vanessa, Lydia and the team was superb. We willl be back. Highly recommend!

Average food, not like on the photos. They also tried to sit us down at a different location (seemingly the same restaurant but not on a lively location we initially booked it for), luckily we were able to have it resolved. Once we got seated, the service was wonderful, our waiter Antonio was very attentive and tried to understand both me practicing my Spanish and helped us in English when I reached my limit. Thanks Antonio :-)
