We stopped in for lunch after visiting the Alcazar. It was 2pm on a Thursday and everywhere was busy, including this place, but we decided to wait and I’m glad we did! We were seated upstairs by one of the balconies which was beautiful. We ordered an assortment of tapas; the eggplant, salmorejo, croquettes, patatas bravas, squid, tomato salad, and fried cod. All were very good! My fiancé especially loved the fried cod, he said it was the best he’s ever had! We felt a bit rushed by our servers as they kept trying to take our menu away even when we explained that we’d be ordering multiple things, one or two plates at a time. But they were very kind and most spoke very good English. We would recommend eating here while in Cordoba (they also have a “restaurant” on the same block).

Hemos tenido una experiencia muuuy negativa en este sitio, empezando porque el teléfono que viene de contacto, si llamas para reservar, resulta que no es exactamente de este lugar sino de un restaurante que se llama igual pero no es de tapas y que está a unos metros en la misma calle. Pero yo llamé y reserve. Cuando llegamos nos mandaron al restaurante, puesto que el “tapas” no admite reservas. Claro, te diriges al restaurante y una vez sentado, descubres que los precios no son los que vienen reflejados en su web, y la carta, tampoco. Obviamente pregunté por la carta que yo vi en el apartado “menú” de google y nos dijeron que eso era en la parte de tapas y que allí no se admitían reservas. Pues que lo dejen claro cuando se llama para reservar. Bueno, nos fuimos al “tapas” casa Pepe y después de espetar un ratillo, nos dieron mesa. Para ser franco, la comida es buena, no voy a decir lo contrario, y el servicio también. Pero hijo, salí de allí esmallao y con 60 € menos en la cartera. Podrían ser mucho más generosos con las tapas, que valen lo suyo. La tapa de salmorejo, ridícula, ridícula. (5,30€) La de bacalao, igual. (7,20€) La media de croquetas venían 6 croquetas con dos pegotes de mayonesa (9’90€). Y todo, sin ninguna guarnición. En fin, todo un despropósito comer allí. Y un detalle muy feo. Tienen un montacargas que lo utilizan tanto como túnel sucio, como túnel limpio, es decir, meten tanto la comida procedente de cocina, como los platos sucios que van al office, cuando deberían ir por separado. Eso no sé yo si es muy higiénico. En fin, antes o después de ir a este lugar, coman algo porque van a pasar hambre.

Ubicado en una tranquila y pintoresca calle del casco histórico cordobés, Las Tapas de Casa Pepe es uno de esos rincones que, sin hacer demasiado ruido, conquista con autenticidad, sabor y calidez. La experiencia comenzó con unas berenjenas con miel que rozan la perfección: crujientes por fuera, tiernas por dentro, y con el dulzor justo. Un clásico cordobés que aquí se eleva a arte. A continuación, el rabo de toro, cocinado con mimo y tiempo, se deshacía literalmente al tocar el tenedor. Jugoso, sabroso y con una salsa intensa, de esas que invitan a pedir pan sin pudor. Un plato que resume el alma de la cocina tradicional andaluza. Los chipirones, por su parte, llegaron a la mesa en su punto exacto de cocción: tiernos, frescos y bien acompañados. Una opción ligera pero llena de sabor, ideal para equilibrar una comida donde la materia prima es protagonista. El servicio, cercano y profesional, hace que te sientas como en casa desde el primer momento. Siempre atentos, sin agobiar, con recomendaciones acertadas y una sonrisa que no se finge. Y el espacio, decorado con gusto y sin artificios, mezcla tradición y sencillez con un toque de encanto andaluz que invita a quedarse un rato más. En resumen, Las Tapas de Casa Pepe es una parada imprescindible si estás en Córdoba y buscas buena comida, trato amable y un entorno agradable. Aquí, lo auténtico no se anuncia: se sirve en cada plato. ⭐ Valoración: 9/10 📌 Perfecto para: almuerzos informales con sabor local, cenas relajadas y turistas que quieran probar la Córdoba más sabrosa sin caer en lo turístico.

The entire waitstaff was amazing, super courteous and kind. My husband and I had a reservation at the sister restaurant next door but opted for the casual tapas bar instead. A kind waitress started us off by canceling the reservation and jumped right in to start us off w delicious local wines by the glass. Juan, our server was super helpful in recommendations. Not to mention he speaks perfect Italian and English on top of his native tongue Spanish. Everything was delicious! We are not big eaters, but love good food. My husbands a bit of a foodie. We ordered the anchovies toast, fried eggplant cubes w drizzled honey, ham croquets, veal meatballs and artichoke flowers. We splurged on the Carmel custard for dessert. The local wine selection was really nice as well. This place was full of Spanish patrons, so we knew it was going to be a great local find! Excellent food, definitely our favorite from the visit to Córdoba. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the meats to the produce; and many of their typical cordobese dishes were exemplary. The salmorejo was strong and flavorful yet incredibly silky, the berenjenas flew off the table (we had four raciones), and the meat cuts (with special mention to the pluma) were excellent and melted in the mouth. I also must highlight their albóndigas (meatballs) in tomato sauce, which might have been the best I've ever tried and can't recommend them enough. And the cheesecake was the stuff dreams are made of - flavorful, perfectly sweet, and incredibly creamy. So much so I asked for an extra portion to go. On top of that, the service was stellar, both friendly yet flawlessly professional. Really a place where Cordoba's cuisine shines...
