The Club — Restaurant in Córdoba

While the super veggie bowl was good, it was simple and tasty (food gets 3 stars) , my review is really about what happened last night. I was sitting on the chairs on the sidewalk and for the first time in my life, my chair fell fully backwards hitting against the hard sidewalk. The patrons on the next table saw me fall and were quick to help. My server was kind and came to help too. I am just thankful I did not get a concussion as I was sensible enough to hold my head. I did injure my back… and sadly the servers story made me feel worse. She laughingly said this is not the first time someone has fell off the chairs, recently another lady fell and she was lucky there were no cars. Yes, I was sitting far back in the chair… after a long day of walking who doesn’t need to sit comfortably against the back of a chair??? I was very shaken and my back was painful… and I did respectfully tell the server just before leaving that if the chairs are so risky they should consider replacing them. And the inconsiderate response is what forced me to write this review.. she said I was sitting far back and that she didn’t see me fall(glad she said that she didn’t see me as it was true) and thats all… really? I was serious and told her that it was not ok, and very hesitantly she said she can tell the owner. If this was the US and I fell off a faulty chair and hit my head to the sidewalk things would be different. I am angry with the indifference, as I am here just visiting and to have an accident and injured back for no fault of mine (besides sitting on a chair) while traveling solo is not ok. And to whoever responds please be mindful that I am writing the fact and soon after it happened. The least you could do is make sure this doesn’t happen to someone...

This place looks like one of those cool hipster places, but it's all the look - the food is subpar. I was really looking forward for an American pancake breakfast, but when they came they were already cold. They were also very dry and not tasty at all. They were not even real American pancakes, that usually are done with rising dough so you get them more fluffy (and they usually are bigger and round), but here they had very simple version that honestly I make better at home without much trying. It is quite evident that the chef doesn't know what they're doing because of simple mistakes - e.g. ice cream was on top of the pancakes. Why would you do that? It makes them cold and seeps into the pancake making it more soggy. It's all done just for the cool look without any care about the taste.

Moreover, the staff was super slow. There were maybe 4-5 tables and two waitresses, but they were already overwhelmed and taking forever for each step - getting our order, getting the food and getting the bill.

The ambience was made terrible because of very loud 80s pop rock music. If you want to have a pleasant chill breakfast atmosphere, you don't put that kind of music at this level in the morning.

I put two stars to this place because my bf had eggs benedict and they were not terrible (though also cold by the time they came). But overall, there is complete lack of care of how people will experience this place - from the long waiting, to the music, and of course, to the disappointing food.

If you're in Cordoba, avoid this place, I'm sure there are plenty...

Recommended! Very nice place to have breakfast or lunch! The very tasty dishes are a nice change from what most restaurants around serve. Although the dinner is also fine. The Club is modern, fresh, colorful, cozy and atmospherically decorated. The crew is very relaxed and hospitable. Friendly dogs are also very welcome and are received with enthusiasm.

Because our dog is also welcome and we are in Cordoba for a longer time, it is nice that the menu is so varied. We really like this place.

Until 13:30 there is a menu with dishes from pancakes with fruit to salmon with poached egg and avocado. The menu from 13:30 has a lot of variety. From salads to noodles. From hamburger with goat cheese to Presa Imbetica de campo.

The restaurant is colorful and modernly decorated and feels very energetic and atmospheric. The nice soulful music in the background makes it complete.

We are staying at the Hesperia hotel which is located nearby. As a guest of this hotel you can consider not taking the breakfast buffet, but having breakfast at The Club in the morning.
