I should have trusted my instincts as I suspected that based on some of the negative reviews that perhaps this place would not be great. Our experience was consistent with the negative reviews we read. I always look for the positive though and there are two good things about this place. 1. I will never be back and that is the best thing about this place 2. the view from at least one table. We had a table close to the entrance and the view is quite nice. The first problem: The service was bad. We were one of the first customers to arrive and they were very slow to attend to our table even though we had two small kids. One person was hostile and others were indifferent at best. This came as a surprise as we were willing to pay the higher price point for good food and good service. The food was bland at best and there was not one dish that anyone at the table would order if they ever returned. When both 8 year olds asked for salt, that is a good indication of what you are looking at. The food was not horrible but extremely average. The service was bad. We would not ever consider returning and this is the reason for the one star review. We have been to many restaurants in Cadaquez and this place is one I wish I had not ever visited. It is shocking that so soon after restaurants have opened again in Spain that the service was so bad.

Owner has indicated that the review is not '"fair" or "true" (without any explanation) This was our experience in the restaurant. Our experience was that we thought the service was poor and that the food was average. A comment from the restaurant that our comments were not true shows that the restaurant has zero interest in hearing any feedback and they think that they are perfect. Delicious paella with crab, fresh seafood, very good experience. If you want a good paella , come here (ignore reviews from French tourists) Good quality food Amazing choice of wines , I don’t remember how many pages… Cozy interior Nice views Fresh breeze coming from the sea through opened doors and windows , it’s not hot in the restaurant Experienced manager. Waiters may be need a bit more training. Good service in general, but some waiters forget which table ordered drinks, they wanted to serve us somebody else’s drinks, some waiters were walking by and accidentally pushing the back of my chair quite often without even apologizing, that was annoying. We had to wait long to make an order, they prioritize local people who lives there, they took their order quickly and served them quickly even though they came after us, that didn’t feel good. I didn’t like fish soup that much, it didn’t have rich flavor. Soup itself doesn’t taste much fish or seafood.

If I’m in Cadaqués I would come here again for sure. I would try other dishes from menu. If you’re looking for a good experience - I recommend.

It’s better to...

First of all the view from the restaurant is beautiful! We had a delicious salad for starters, which was all nice and good... But then came the Paella. The meat was of such a low quality it was just not edible, just bones, tendons and fat. The rice was swimming in a brown salty sauce and hadn't absorbed any of the fluid. It was basically like a soup. Not even remotely comparable to a classic Catalan Paella! We ate two bites and ordered the Bill. The waitress didn't even seem to care and charged us the full menu price, even though the paella was clearly not edible and we didn't have desert yet. She even tried to justify the awful meat by saying it was pork... As If that explains why it was so gross. An awful experience with arrogant and condescending service personnel....
