While I can't comment on the quality of the food and drinks, I really did not like the attitude of the staff here.
At first, we had to wait for around 10 minutes to be seated (which is completely fine on a busy evening). After sitting down it took another 10 minutes for the waitress to arrive and take our order. Again, fine for me.
Then we made our order. We had already eaten before, so we just wanted to have two cocktails and some snacks like bread with aioili and patatas bravas. The waitress told us this is not enough and we need to order more.
I said we can't order more if we are not hungry, but there was no understanding. She left us with two options - order more or leave. So we decided to leave.
I understand that a restaurant needs to make money, however I don't think it is appropriate to force customers into some kind of minimum consumption and ask them to order things that they do not want or need. With the two cocktails and snacks we would have spent more than 30€, so also not that much less than someone who orders a meal and a regular drink. Moreover, it's also likely we would have ordered further drinks during the evening.
It seems that this restaurant sees customers purely as a source of revenue and fails to provide good...
Read moreThe food and service were poor, though the view was stunning and scenic. Two out of three dishes were incorrect—possibly due to a translation issue with the English menu. I ordered the grilled sea bream, which tasted good, but it came with just two slices of zucchini, one slice of grilled apple (which felt out of place), some potatoes, and no lemon, even though vegetables were promised.
My partner’s fried seafood box was bland, with no seasoning or sauce—just a lemon wedge. My friend had the monkfish and prawn in a curried salsa broth. The flavor was just okay, but it was a lot of broth with no bread. When she asked for bread, we were surprised to be charged €3,99 at the end—they accounted it as 3 x bread, one roll per person—which felt excessive, even knowing that bread often costs extra in Spain. Drinks were also overpriced.
The service felt rushed and impersonal, as if staff just wanted to clear the table. We’d only recommend this place for a drink and to enjoy the view—not for the food. Unfortunately, this ended up being both the most expensive and the most disappointing meal...
Read moreIt might be the magic of Cadaquez creating a bias, but this place was just amazing. We ordered a lot of fish and seafood tapas, but the best ones were the Norwegian salmon and the anchovies. The latter was the star; scrumptious salty filés of the local speciality on pieces of tomato bread (pan de cristal?) with pickled paprika and tapenade. I ordered another serving when we were done, even though I haven't been that full in a long while. Their Bloody Mary is really good as well, made with the traditional recipe rather than the plain tomato juice & vodka highballs that most other places serve. Admittedly, it might check some boxes for a "tourist trap", but in our experience it was just the positive ones. Lots of tables with magnificent views, indoor seating that looked cozy, staff that spoke many different languages. Highly recommended in general, and I recommend trying the local specialties (once again, the anchovies in...
