Tourist trap restaurant, pseudo rich: First, my girlfriend and I waited exactly 11 minutes outside, being ignored by all the waiters who passed by, all that for a manager (i guess) to finally come and greet us with a haughty air. Then, there are always several tables in the sun and they never do anything to put them in the shade unlike the neighboring restaurants and obviously the indoor places are very limited. There are only two fans (one of which does not work), only targeted at two tables, again, unlike the neighboring restaurants. Although the pella is good, it remains expensive and you can find better in the neighboring restaurants. They fill the glass bottles with tap water to sell it at a higher price. Oh btw : If you want to eat on the terrace, they charge you €3.75 for it.

We had a truly memorable experience at Veler in Calafell! From the moment we arrived, we were met with exceptional service and genuine kindness. It was a scorching 34°C, and our kids were red like little tomatoes, clearly suffering from the heat.

What touched us deeply was the way the staff cared for them , especially one lovely lady who gently wiped their faces with cold, damp towels, full of douceur and gentillesse. It wasn’t just service; it was heartfelt care.

As for the food was absolutely excellent! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A perfect balance between quality and ambiance, with a team that clearly loves what they do.

Harm and his wife own the restaurant and are out serving guests. My husband and I were doing a DIY walking tapas and drinks tour of the town and decided to stop here for our last stop for a night cap and dessert. Harm asked why were weren’t having dinner and we told him why and he joked to come back for dinner when we weren’t full. The service and desserts were so good we came back the next night for dinner and it did not disappoint. Harm and his wife remembered us and were very friendly again that night.
