Boomerang Steakhouse — Restaurant in Calp

We came to Boomerang on recommendation from the couple we were holidaying with who visited the restaurant around a year ago. High expectations. Our experience went downhill within 5 minutes of our arrival due to the demeanor of the girl who showed us to the table. To say it was lacklustre is an understatement. I'm not going to harp on about this but safe to say, it did not improve for the rest of the evening. I ordered rib-eye steak, medium rare. When it arrived, it did not resemble any rib-eye I've had in... we'll... ever, looking more (and eating more) like a cheap rump steak. After struggling for 20 minutes I sent it back to the kitchen, if only to cook it further than raw, although couldn't eat it due to the poor choice of cut. This in my opinion was not rib-eye, not by a long stretch. I left approximately 25% of the steak uneaten. We also as a table of four left no tip.... which I have not done in living memory. Staff need a lesson in people skills, and the chef needs a lesson in cooking. At the very least take the word "steakhouse" off of the restaurant name to give yourself a way out. First time in Calpe, but we won't let this experience put us off visiting other...

The best steak I have ever had.. In a different world... 18 ounce t-bone demolished. Without meat sweats. Unbelievable. I would recommend to anyone... I'm sat here reminiscing the full dish and very tempted to order again... The Guiness I must add is as what you would taste in Dublin... The old saying goes the further away you go the less if taste the Guiness is... I can 100% confirm the Guiness is as if I am Sat in side St james gate brewery sipping a pint in the 360 sky bar.. We’ve been living abroad in Spain from the US for a couple years, it was very refreshing to find this place. Reasonably priced meals. Perfectly cooked steaks and burgers. Excellent and spicy hot wings. Our teenagers enjoyed their meals and we did too. Grab a pint (or ten) and go for the Diablo wings or burger, destroy a ribeye, or get some of those Jack Daniels ribs.
