No photos but just want to say we discovered this little gem by accident. We wondered along the pedestrian area and just stumbled across it - as we wanted an Indian meal but expected to be heading closer to the beach.
We had a Korma, Jalfrezi and Dopiaza, mixed starters, pilau and mushroom rice.
The quality of the Lamb in dopiaza was great and the sauce had just the right level of spice a solid medium level not at all mild so had a kick to it but not overwhelming.
The Jalfrezi was equally tasty with the right balance of spice slightly less kick than the dopiaza which surprised us but full of flavour and enjoyed by those in the party who prefer mild curries.
The Korma was in a thick sauce and enjoyed by those preferring something sweeter and less spicy.
Mushroom rice was fantastic and full of flavour and the mixed starters - whilst not the largest portion were ideal as a starter so not to ruin the appetite - good for a tasting dish.
Great service from the team and very attentive - it was not too busy but expect it may just have been a quiet Sunday.
We had drinks and food for 4 people and don’t go over the top (anymore) so had 3 mains, 2 x rice, 1 x Nann, shared 2 mixed started and popadoms...
Read moreA Visit the Buddah Castle will not disappoint. I cannot do justice to the food in the form of mere text. Until they invent the ability to convey taste and smell through the Internet, how can we possibly expect to judge the quality of amazing cuisine though words? You simply must take yourself here to experience it first hand.
Delicious vegetarian options and homemade onion bhajis make this a winner with me. The portion sizes and speed of service is another big plus when eating here. The front of house speak English so if your Spanish is "muy mal" don't worry.
With 2020/21 being such a pain in the bum to eat out and support your local restaurants, it's good to know you can always collect your food and enjoy it at home, that being said, they also have few tables outside and with the weather during summer being consistently amazing, you can't go wrong.
One last tidbit that I'm going to throw in, since you are still reading, you can go to a thousand restaurants and tell the difference between the ones that genuinely care about the plate of food they put in front of you and those that don't. The Buddha Castle really enjoy putting together the amazing things you can order here...
Read moreWe have had food from Buddha Castle in Calpe on a number of occassions now and the food is always really good to be fair. The reasons I only gave two stars is because on our recent visit to Calpe we visited on two nights and the delay with service was unacceptable. We thought it was just the first night so gave benefit of the doubt. We did say it to the lady that served us and she just said they were very busy. I know they had a few tables to serve outside but there was only three small tables occupied inside the restaurant. I think we would go back if we are back in Calpe because I think the standard of food it deserves another chance but I am really writing this so management knows about it and hopefully for the sake of business does something about it. We waited a full hour exactly for our food to come out once we placed the order. The young girl that served us was had a lovely welcoming manner but just look at service times and...
