We chose this place based on the reviews. Note we are Asians and live in SF Bay Area and are used to really good cuisine.
This place is a sushi, dim sum, Chinese , Japanese cuisine all mixed in one. Ambitiously trying to have over 100 different items unfortunately means not everything is made well.
It was all you can eat and a large variety which is a plus (we were 3 with different taste profile)
I will review each item we had:
BEST MUST TRY Best items, fresh , cooked perfectly that day: -salmon skewers(perfectly grilled, not over cooked, juicy succulent nice char -grilled zucchini (Perfectly grilled, juicy, nice char -grilled mushrooms (perfectly grilled succulent -“Peking” duck (delish crispy deep fried duck breast in a batter, served with (not good pancake) and condiments. Beware not traditional real Peking duck -broccoli grilled perfectly not over cooked nice char -tofu stir fry. Derp fried tofu stir fried in brown sauce with veggies -seaweed salad -deep fried red bean sesame ball -frog legs. Taste like Chicken perfectly cooked grilled juicy
OKAY -Deep fried squid rings(can’t really taste squid but pretty ok) -Sesame prawn(not sesame) barely could tell it was prawn. Could’ve been anything and was deep fried but not terrible -cucumber salad (I honestly could do better) wasn’t bad but they could’ve used better vinegar -Nigiri mixed and salmon nigiri were ok. I have had Better fresher salmon before but not bad here -Stir fried beef
PLEASE AVOID: -plain white rice.. low end quality rice was also maybe old , “crispy “ it should not be -vermicelli noodle stir fried. Tasted SOUR was it old? Inedible my friend threw it up -samosa. Shell was like maybe wonton wrap and inside was curry potato of done diet but they used Japanese curry which did not match samosa which should be Indian curry -sushi. Salmon and roe. Avoid all sushi. Choose nigiri instead. The sushi paper tasted old. Very disappointed since I craved sushi(we are from California and we have really high...
Read moreGreat prices, great food and great service. This restaurant has been in the area for a very long time and many years ago used to be an actual buffet. I'm not sure if it's changed due to covid and never gone back but to be honest the setup now is much better as it's now order as much as you can off the menu as opposed to Buffet which I personally prefer. It means everything is fresher and you get small little Tapas portions which stops you getting too full too quickly and gives you time to peruse the menu and decide what else you may want. It also includes a dessert and the drinks are adequately priced. Even if you are not a fan of Japanese food don't be put off as there's plenty on the menu that you can order that could make you feel like you are just as easily at a Spanish tapas bar. The outside seating is great, although could do with some better chairs but the view is sensational looking out over the mountains and Calpe Rock. The staff are very attentive and polite and bring your food and clear your plates efficiently. The only negative I have really is it's looking tired and dated. It could do with a fresh coat of paint and some new furniture outside. Overall though for £16.50 per person, I...
Read moreThis restaurant truly serves the best sushi in all of Spain – and we’ve tried quite a few places! Every bite is a masterpiece: the fish is unbelievably fresh, the rolls are perfectly balanced, and the presentation is like a work of art. The food is so flawless that we honestly can’t decide what we loved more – every dish surpasses the next.
On top of that, the atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it a place you instantly want to return to. The staff deserves a special mention as well: attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about what they do, they make the whole experience unforgettable.
If you’re looking for sushi that will raise your standards forever, this...
