We were recommended this restaurant by a local in Cala Vinyes, so we made our way to Palma Nova one evening on our holiday and it did not disappoint. The lovely staff found us a scenic spot, even though we didn't have a reservation (our mistake!) It such a relaxing experience dining there, with the gorgeous Son Caliu beach feeling like a scene in a classic movie.
The food was delicious, we loved the grilled calimari to start and the seafood paella. The hake was heavenly, melting away in your mouth and the lemon sole was an epic meal. They have a great selection of desserts, with some traditional options. We spoke to the head waiter who was eager to recommend us his favourite treats and they were definitely worth the sin ;) We topped off our meal with tasty sangria.
We loved the place so much that when our family joined us later on the island, we just had to take them there as well.
The staff were all great, hard-working and very friendly. Between our two visits we must have been served by all the waiters who were all professional.
We will remember Rincón Del Mar and look forward to returning there some day in the future. Until then, wishing everyone at the restaurant...
Read moreI ordered the house salad with salmon and received it in a bath of water. Of course this was not so appealing so I made the staff aware of my dissatisfaction. To their defense, they took the dish back, removed the excessive water and returned it. However, at that stage the damage is already done and you are not having a good night anymore. Any serious restaurant knows to compensate a dissatisfied customer but not this one. They instead arrogantly argued that they have served the salad the same way for 25 years and there were never any problems. As if that would guarantee the quality of all their future meals. This rather shows that they are not interested in making customers happy in case something falls between the chairs and such a business does not deserve your money....
Read moreSituated on the beach, not far from the San Caliu Hotel, this gem of a place serves some of the best Tapas ever. Plenty of dishes for meat eaters and vegetarians to choose from. The onion soup is fab, as is the garlic soup but watch out for ham in the garlic soup. Prawns with garlic and chilli are heavenly, as are the grilled artichokes. Brill was a whole fish to pull apart but the do other fish too. Grilled squid was charred (in a good way) but tender, salads were great and overall the food is well worth the money. Wines from Mallorca on offer and we like the Jose Ferrer rosata as it went with the food well and was equally drinkable on its own. A very good place to eat or drink at any...
