We have eaten some wonderful lunches here over the past seven years. Every day there are two set menu meal choices one at around the 10 euro mark and the other a couple of euros dearer. Both include several choices in each of three courses with house wine and water or casera included as well as coffee afterwards. The food is served by charming staff and produced by the family whose establishment it is. Most of the vegetables are grown by the grandfather who also helps in the kitchen on occasion. Robbie chose to celebrate his 70th birthday there which should give you some idea of how much we like it! The decor is Spanish country style with heavy wooden chandeliers and the walls hung about with oil paintings of countryside views from elsewhere on the island and the mounted heads of various unfortunate creatures once hunted to provide meat for the pot but even so the ambience is delightful. Truckers eat there regularly as do smartly-dressed white-collar workers and shop assistants, young and old all creating an atmosphere of semi-rural familiarity. Some of the staff speak English well enough to make this a pleasurable eatery even for those with little or no command of Spanish. If you are a fan of paella you will want to visit on a...
Read moreWhat an excellent lunch place! Efficient and friendly service, clean, simple, tasty, perfect. The only serve breakfast ( haven’t tried it) and daily menu lunch ( menu del dia. Daily menu changes daily ( Monday-Friday) and is printed in Spanish. Staff speaks English and are very helpful in answering questions. There are two types of daily menu: basic one for 13 Euro and “special menu” of euro18. Both have good choices . We tried the special menu only because I wanted lubina and the basic menu had tuna. Two of us tried gazpacho (home made), salad with fresh cheese, lubina on a plancha, dorada on a plancha, and cheesecake with vanilla ice cream, a bottle of mineral water and vine. Everything was excellent - simple, fresh, very tasty. Excellent...
Read moreA proper Mallorcan kitchen, always full of locals, only open for breakfast and lunch. The menu del dia is always great and the service typically Spanish (friendly and relaxed). Even months between visits we are treated like returning family.
Food wise, the menu del dia is cheap (there are 2 versions, with a basic and a special version about €2 different) and rustic fare, but always really tasty, fresh ingredients and clearly home made.
A must visit if you're in palmanova and you're willing to try new things (though they will do the standard stuff for kids if...
