Review of La Casa de Pregonero
As a professional in the restaurant business in NYC, I have high expectations when dining out, especially in establishments that promise a quality experience. Unfortunately, my visit to La Casa de Pregonero left much to be desired.
From the moment I walked in, the welcome was anything but warm. The host seemed disinterested and unfriendly, which set a disappointing tone for the evening. It’s crucial in this industry to make guests feel valued, and that simply wasn’t the case here.
As the evening progressed, I couldn’t help but notice the behavior of the staff. They appeared to be behaving strangely, and it was hard to shake the feeling that some may have been under the influence. This not only affected their service but also created an unsettling atmosphere that detracted from the dining experience.
When it came to the food, my disappointment deepened. Not only did the dishes lack flavor and quality, but I also found a hair in my meal, which is unacceptable. Each bite felt bland and uninspired, making it difficult to enjoy the meal.
Overall, my experience at La Casa de Pregonero was a letdown. Both the hospitality and food quality fell short of the standards I hold based on my industry experience. Read moreThe service was very attentive, and the decor of the patio was lovely. The food was nothing special, although it tried to be. The cheesecake seemed curdled and doughy rather than creamy, and the flavour just tasted of sugar. It was also sitting in a puddle water. For me ranks as one of the worst cheesecakes I’ve had. I had the leeks with some kind of ham crumb and the garlic soup with the egg. The soup was very salty and a strange texture, and very hot, while the egg inside was cold. The leeks were simply grilled, and they were presented in a basket (very unhygienic, these things are impossible to wash). The sauce they came with was also nothing special, and overall difficult to eat. The prices would have been fine if the dishes had lived up to their mouthwatering description...

He pensado que este comentario totalmente verídico (pregunten al camarero) pueda servir de aviso a futuros clientes y sobre todo a/el dueñ@ de este establecimiento. Mesa en el patio interior al fondo a la izquierda del todo, pegada a la pared (dos comensales; fecha 06.09.2025; para que corrobore la información el camarero que nos atendió). Comedor normal. Penosa vajilla (ver foto). Croquetas dudosamente caseras. Carne de vaca vieja (muy, muy vieja..), sin sabor, fría, dura y nerviosa. Pero la guinda de todo es cuando nos traen a la mesa los cafés con el azucarero: comienzan a salir del azucarero un montón de cucarachas que, tras reponerme, trato de ir eliminando sin conseguirlo pues son multitud. Dejo algunos cadáveres de mi safari en la mesa y el camarero, diligentemente, las retira con la servilleta. Los comensales de nuestra mesa vecina pueden dar fe, así como la foto que incluyo en este comentario. Me pregunto si la persona que luce en la página web (Mirian Hernández, chef del restaurante), además de ser máster chef, aparecer muy sonriente en las fotos y ser embajadora de los alimentos de Madrid, tiene a bien ocuparse de estos lamentables detalles y de aplicar convenientemente tratamientos de desinfección en su restaurante (por favor: no olvide la cocina !!) para que los infelices que pagamos un ticket de casi 90€ por una comida normalita, no se nos deleite con semejante número zoológico con esa cantidad de insectos rastreros (no quiero imaginarme el local de noche a oscuras...). Ruego a esta persona, Ceo y chef, que baje de su altar, tenga un poco de decencia profesional y además de pedirnos disculpas en esta página de tripadvisor se ocupe de que futuros comensales no tengan que disfrutar de semejante y lamentable espectáculo, en este restaurante de cocina mediterránea y bla, bla, bla. que NO RECOMIENDO EN ABSOLUTO (quedan avisados).
