My boyfriend and I dined at Restaurant Artrutx during our visit to Minorca. We had made a reservation for a Wednesday dinner prior to our trip, but upon checking in at our hotel, the receptionist, who mentioned a partnership with the restaurant, changed our reservation to Sunday for a better table at the seafront. He even showed us the seatmap of the restaurant and the table he‘d chosen for us. When we arrived, we were given a different table and told that specific tables couldn't be reserved. After some back and forth we were ultimately seated at a seafront table, which we had initially hoped for. The location and ambiance were absolutely stunning, creating the perfect setting for a romantic evening.
Our waiter, Christian, provided exceptional service throughout the evening. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcomed. He recommended a delicious bottle of wine that complemented our meal perfectly.
For starters, we enjoyed the 5Jotas ham and garlic prawns, both of which were superb. The ham was rich and flavorful, while the prawns were cooked to perfection with a delightful garlic seasoning.
As for the main course, I opted for the Bacalao, which was delectable and expertly prepared. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's experience with the rice Illauna with lobster was less satisfying. The lobster, which we were informed was not fresh, had an unusual consistency - soft, almost like cottage cheese - and a distinctive taste that was not to our liking. It's possible that this dish's unique preparation style wasn't a fit for our palate, especially compared to the fantastic paellas we had enjoyed elsewhere on the island.
Despite the disappointing lobster dish, our overall experience was pleasant, thanks largely to the excellent service and the breathtaking setting. We recommend Restaurant Artrutx for its beautiful location, quality starters, and attentive staff, but suggest clarifying dish details with the waiter if you have specific expectations about...
Read moreFood was average. Service was terrible. Sunset views are nice. Me and my family were seated beside the wall and alot of customers kept coming and standing right behind me to get a picture of the sunset. This was very off putting. Our empty starter plates sat on the table for over 15 mins, they got lifted and then another 10 mins passed until abother sever said o i see your finished and must have told the kitchen about it just now as our mains where another 40 mins after that. The table beside us that where in 10 mins after us where on there deserts already and we hadnt got our mains. Steak tartar for starer had no taste, and the oysters where supposed to be serves on ice. But there was more water than ice. The bill was 200 euro. I wouldnt go back. When i asked for the bill off the server, within 10 secs there was a lady standing at the table with a card machine (this was the quickest service so far) She didnt even ask how my meal was, just showed me the bill. I didnt realise when i paid there was already a service charge on the bill of 10 percent. I wish i never tipped. I wouldnt go back. And i booked it in advance because i was so excited about it. What a let down.
Response to owner query about bill
The bill was 173.50 euro with a 10% service charge on it which brought it to 190.35 and I said take 200 so I also gave a tip of 10euro. But it wasn't until I left and read the receipt that I realised there was already a service charge on it. It was on 17th July at around 9.25pm if you would like to check. Unfortunately I don't have a...
Read moreWe visited Artrutx for dinner tonight as a family (our son is 5) and it was everything we’d expected and more. The staff were amazing - so accommodating and helpful. The scenery was just stunning and we were glad for a clear sky to sit outside!
We arrived at 7:15pm and the DJ had just started, very chilled music and perfect volume for the setting. The menus were via QR code on the table (on the website too if you wish to look before you go). They also provide WiFi details if you struggle with signal.
The menu was detailed and varied with a variety of meals at different costs. There’s not a specific children’s meal and to be honest, whilst kids were here, it’d be a perfect place for couples or groups without kids - if we were to come again! They were however very calm for children regardless.
We opted for a wagyu burger each (including our son) which was cooked to our desired choice, with salad and dressing served on the side making it easier for a slightly fussy child! It was absolutely delicious, I’d highly recommend (cooked medium)!
The cheesecake dessert was unbelievable. Our waitress Estefania recommended it and what a decision, I’d eat it again and again!
Just to mention Estefania again, she was brilliant. Her English was amazing (much better than my Spanish!) and she was great at making us feel welcome and served us promptly. Thank you so much!
We’d highly recommend and will definitely be back...
