Swearing at customers after you served raw chicken isn’t a great look!
On our final night in Menorca, we ate at Cafe Venezia as a family of 6. The service from the younger waiting staff was good, sadly many of the wines were unavailable which was frustrating but appreciate this can’t always be helped.
Then things started to go downhill, our starters arrived before our drinks and then one of our main pasta dishes (chicken Alfredo) arrived raw. Which was immediately acknowledged by our waitress.
Now concerned about the chefs cooking capabilities we opted for a veg based pizza to replace the pasta dish which took another 30 mins to arrive. In fairness, the pizza was ok but by this point the rest of the table had been finished for a good 25 mins.
Time for the bill, now I’m not sure if my expectations are out of balance but I didn’t expect to pay for the replacement pizza and I certainly didn’t expect to pay for the RAW CHICKEN PASTA. Both were on the bill and after 3 attempts at speaking to two different managers they were finally removed.
Sadly the manager decided to tell us to “never come back” followed by swearing in Spanish at the back of the restaurant and sadly for him half of our table speak Spanish so we’re able to capture his live feedback.
Overall - bang average food with shocking management and customer service.

Read moreThe restaurant was empty at 7:30 so we should have seen this as a sign however there were lots of reserved signs so we gave it a go. Big mistake serving staff were nice however not really interested in us. Food arrive quickly and starters were fine (mozzarella sticks, cheese balls and cheese garlic bread) the mussels however were awful. Really small and tasted overly fishy and the sauce just tasted like sea water) I left most of them but made no fuss just that it wasn’t to my taste. Mains came ( carbonara, lasagne, cod and chicken and chips) all were the worst I have ever eaten. Lasagne was stodgy and tasted like a poor quality microwave meal, carbonara was not carbonara but an overly salty brown sauce and was inedible. The cod was like a frozen breaded cod from the supermarket but more fishy and dry. Chips were greasy and the chicken was dry and over cooked. We left all 4 meals explained that they tasted awful. The waitress apologised and then brought us the full bill. We left and will never return or go to any of the other 2 linked restaurants Next door. Poor service, disgusting food and they could care a...
Read moreJust ate here with my mum and six year old daughter. My daughter wanted a dish from the regular menu so we asked for a child portion, but according to the waiter it was not possible to fix and he said we had to choose something from the childs menu. So instead we ordered spaghetti bolognese but with a different pasta sort than spaghetti, and he said that wouldn't be a problem. Then, when we got the bill, we had to pay full price for a big portion from the regular menu (10,80 euro). I asked him about it and he said it was because of the pasta sort (he didn't tell me this before, and therefor he knew we ordered an other dish than the one she wanted from the beginning- one from the childs menu, as he told us to do). Very very bad, I was angry...
