Entre Suros — Restaurant in Ciutadella

The problem of this restaurant is the staff, I was recommended the salmon tartare which I ordered to after find out that it was salmon and octopus tartare, (it was not specified on the menu that there was octopus) when you read the allergens it was stated that there were mollusks but that could also just be cross contamination for all I know. Seeing as on the menu it was not written down and when I asked the waitress what was inside she did not specify it. When I told them that I was sorry but i could not eat it they seemed to be pissed of and irritated at me even though I apologised a few times for the fuss. They did not say sorry and they didn’t offer to remake the tartare without the octopus, instead they just left it on the table and left the dish that I could not eat on the bill, which I obviously did not pay for.

Allergies and intolleranze are not a joke. No one even asked us if we had any, which is a standard in restaurants. People can die from them. Seeing as I personally work in the restaurant business and I have been a waitress for 7 years in my life working for one of the best sea food restaurants in Europe, I’m pretty sure I have a legitimate reason to leave this long and annoying review. The staff was exceptionally kind and professional - they moved us from the warm interior to a nice outside table and provided excellent service throughout. The atmosphere feels tranquil and refined compared to the opposite Hogar del Pollo.

The food left me a little disappointed here and there. The pimientos del padrón were delicious and the gilda de anchoa featured high-quality anchovies. Octopus croquettes were nicely presented but somewhat bland. Unfortunately, the salmon ceviche had an unbalanced sour-sweet profile, and the dry-aged entrecôte arrived overcooked despite ordering medium rare.

We chose this restaurant based on its excellent reviews, and it truly lived up to the praise. Every dish we tried was freshly prepared and full of authentic Menorcan flavor. Tucked away on a narrow street, the restaurant draws visitors not with flashy signs but with outstanding food and glowing word-of-mouth recommendations.
