Jenny's — Restaurant in Ciutadella

On the basis that on previous days I saw the restaurant was busy, I decided to pay a visit and order tapas.

Visited 23/10/23 at 8 pm.

On presenting myself to the waiter and kindly requesting a table for three, I was met not with even the merest of friendly greetings by waiter no 1, a fifty-something guy.... so not off to a great start.

We sat down, waiter number 2, a young lad, took our drinks and he was friendly and that was fine.

I ordered tapas to share with 2 guests as I was not that hungry - it was hot and I could not face a big meal.

Calamari, patatas bravas and croquettes was ordered - 5 calamari rings turned up on a 'bed' of what was masquerading as salad; the salad must have been the very last limp leaves in a shop bought bag - yuk. The calamari dish was 9 euros btw. The patatas bravas arrived drowning in a sea of an un-id'ed beige sauce; I ate a few to put them out of their misery. Across the meal, my companions did not utter even one 'yum' which is usually an ominous sign.

I made the mistake of seeing plenty punters and assumed this meant good food but alas !... not the case in my opinion.

To summarise - underwhelming, could in all honestly not recommend and would not re-visit. At best, and ending on a positive note, the hole in my tum was filled but I could have done that with a bocadillo & coffee and also way much cheaper.

Had a few meals at Jenny's. Both times each person either liked or didn't. They have a really good offer for daily set menu which I got twice. First time I had crispy chicken with salad, which I liked. Starter was prawn cocktail which was ok. Kids had the nachos. Can't remember all mains, but partner had roast chicken and chips, which he said was average. Youngest had chicken poppers which he liked. Liked that they all came with garnish which just makes the plate look more appealing. The daily menu came with wine, which was ok. Nice large glass. Second visit I had nachos, and the poke bowl. That was absolutely delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Daughter ordered lasagna which they gave her garlic bread for, and then 15 mins after everyone else was eating we asked where her lasagna was - they had obviously forgotten about it and brought it out. It was absolutely burnt to a crisp and inedible. Instead of apologising and asking if she wanted something else they gave her that. She couldn't eat it. I had had a few drinks by time paid bill and only noticed we were still charged the next day. That should have been taken off the bill. Others got pizza (no idea why as there's a pizza place opposite that's fantastic) which again they said was rubbish. So kind of a mixed review for us. Liked it for some things and...

We honestly loved it here at jenny's!

The staff are absolutely wonderful and work so hard together to make sure that their customers are happy.

We discovered this restaurant after an awful experience somewhere else and we were so happy that we did. Their menu is fab, they have a set menu with two different values which have ample starters and mains to choose from. There is a broad selection of dishes varying from octopus, scallops, prawns and even a seafood grill!

I highly recommend this place, great value for money with wine included in your set menu. Great food and service for...
