Read moreWhat a wonderful surprise in a narrow street on the way to somewhere else. The waiter enticed us inside by smiling at us and talking to my grandchildren. We were treated so graciously inside by being shown to cool seats by the air purifier and a/c unit via a quick look at the lobster 🦞 tank. Remember not to mention they're food ! ...We experienced good old fashioned unobtrusive service, with every request catered for. No one commented on my non eating status ( too hot and overwhelmed !). My daughter enjoyed her tuna dish and the children's menu was straightforward and far more exciting than we get in the UK. Her spaghetti Bolognese was a good size and she adored her min fruit lolly selection which she shared with her older sister. The decor is clean, crisp and there are some framed photos documenting the family history of the restaurant.
There is a lot of attention to detail with both live flora displays on the outside seating and the dried arrangements in the stairs. NB this is not a very accessible venue in terms of toilet so if have a level of disability where you would need assistance call ahead to see what could be managed. The playlist is possibly the best in the whole of Menorca with retro styling to my taste : James Taylor, Creedance Clearwater revival, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Cat Stevens, and George Harrison. Well worth a visit whether for a full meal or casual...

However, Staff made us feel unwelcome and stood over us the whole time we were there trying to relax over a drink. As we arrived we were told they were closing in 1.5hours! We were only popping in for an evening drink before heading home so only intended to be there 30 mins max. Didn't like atmosphere or staff attitude. Asked if we could smoke and were told yes but will need to move if someone sits near us to dine (this is understandable but could have been explained more tactfully, and no or was welcome to dine as it was getting late!) . Ladies toilets not particularly clean, storeroom door open, revealing mess and rubbish on floor so I was relieved I wasn't dining here. Unfortunately I will not revisit or recommend after...
