La Balsica — Restaurant in Cuevas del Almanzora

We went here today after a walk along the harbour and said hello and that we would like to buy drinks. We were told NO by the extremely rude man who came out front, you can’t just have drinks you have to eat here! We asked again and he said NO, loudly! Unbelievable, there was only one other table of five people there!! What a rude, obnoxious and arrogant man, his response and behaviour was so unprofessional and the other party who were in the restaurant looked at us and at the man with shock and shook their heads!! We may well have enjoyed our drink and decided to eat, who knows, but we have never, ever been told we can’t buy drinks in a restaurant/bar! Anyway, his loss as we have a huge community of friends who live in this area and we will tell them all to NEVER, EVER go here!! Disrespectful and disgusting, rude behaviour with no reason.

We went on a Sunday and it was very busy. It is a family run restaurant. Pleasant staff and food was served quickly. A little mix up due to the lack of understanding Spanish, I thought he was asking if we'd like salad with our meal but he asked if we'd like salad as a starter (which we didn't) it turned up in a huge bowl and cost 8€ much too much for the 2 of us but hey ho. The meal was good, we both had steak which was well cooked. We only drank water and thought it was expensive at 2.20€ each a small bottle. Just dropped in for a drink and we thought the Food looked nice so we ordered our meals, when the waitress came back with our meals she just drooped our plates down and walked off came back with the basket of pan an again walked off, we had to ASK for a table cover as we where the only ones that did not have one and when the meals came again just dropped the plates down and walked off we had to ASK again for the rest of our food and for the condiments AS the girl was to busy talking to her friends at the door of the BAR ,,,,,IF YOU WANT POUR SERVICE AND COLD FOOD THIS IS THE PLACE TO...
