Treatment differently when you are a tourist! I have been to Alcala since i’ve been three years old and remember always getting a tapa with the drinks when i came with my grandparents. I was on holiday here with my partner and we where sitting at Alcala every evening and never got a tapa with our drink as usual. I thought this was because we didn’t order food and really we didn’t mind but it’s usually normal in Cullera to get a tapa with your drink always. After the second day i noticed that we where always the only table without one but it didn’t bother us much i just thought that they simple forgot to bring us one. The one night we ordered food me and my boyfriend where sitting in between two spanish couples, one ordered wine and one couple only water, both got a plate with nuts and olives. We ordered Gin Tonic and a Coke and when i asked the waitress why we didn’t get a tapa with our drinks she said you only get a tapa when you order beer. The reaction wasn’t very customer friendly and it was clear that this was done on purpose. We had to order nearly everything twice because the waitresses always forgot our order even when we asked for the menu or the bill. Our food came and looked loveless in contrast to every other table we have seen since we’ve been having a drink here for 4 days straight. We ordered food at our last night in Cullera because it always looked very good but our burger was extremely undercooked and the “vegan” appetizer we ordered had fish in it. After going through so much uncomfortableness by having to order everything twice and having to complain about the service we just decided to eat what was edible and leave as fast as possible. We still payed but our last evening in Cullera was simple ruined. My Grandparents life just around the corner and where very shocked and mad about our experience at Alcala throughout the week and i’m now feeling stupid for even paying them and coming there as often as we did, but i just tried to be patient since they don’t understand much english. I think this is a good bar if you are speaking spanish otherwise they will treat you differently. After years of coming here i unfortunately have to say that this was my last time at Alcala. P.S. I want to mention that the manager seems to have an excuse for every customer review on here so i’m adding a picture of the undercooked burger to at least have some prove. I have respect for the waitresses and the Alcala since i’m a waitress myself so i truthfully tried to be patient with service but after 4 days of testing the bar, even when we were nearly the only customers around, i just have to wright this review to warn other non-spanish speaking customers. You want to stay as far away from this place as possible!

You surely will.not be disappointed in Alcalá because it is not only the quality of the food that is of “state of the art” but the warm hospitality and the always helpful and smiling staff that makes your visit unforgettable. Of course the soul of the venue is Bruno the owner who is always there with his team in the frontline. I believe this is the number one restaurant in Cullera. I recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great culinary experience 🥰🇪🇸❤️👏👏👏

Nice cafetería with several vegetarian options. You can have papas in 5 different styles. Vegan options as well. We did not try but home made cakes looked delicious. Local wine for 2 Euro for una copa. We will definitely come back. Just the waiter at the beginning wanted to force us seat us in winter garden and as we refused he did not want to seat us (2 people) at table for four. Other people just seat without asking. That was not nice 😬

No...
