May 8, 2025… Still one of the best. It has already been half a year since we last ate here (the restaurant is closed for a longer period during the winter months), but no more sorrow. They are open again, and how! It’s incredible how much passion can be put into a dish! You simply cannot order anything here that isn’t delicious. Every dish (this time we were with 3 people) is characterized by a fantastic balance of delicious fresh ingredients. And if an ingredient is in the name of the dish, you can taste it! For example, the Filetto Tonnato is one of my favorites. The tuna cream is masterful. With my extensive life experience, I have enjoyed this dish in many places, but this preparation is definitely in my top 10. The homemade bread, the Parma ham, and the Burrata salad are also delicious. We accompanied the starters with a lovely Pinot Grigio delle Venezie. Buttery soft, wonderfully fresh, and full of character… And as with everything: served at the perfect temperature. For the main course, our party preferred the pastas this time. On the table, 3 masterpieces: the Amatriciana, the Puttanesca, and the divine Carbonara Trufa. All three fantastic dishes in generous portions. As soon as the plates are served, you smell the wonderful truffle. For all three, the balance of all ingredients is extraordinarily good. Although we were actually full, we couldn’t resist the Pana Cotta with Saffron… sublime! The kitchen brigade consists of only two people, but they prepare the dishes with love and dedication. The host is the proud owner who is happy to advise you on the most fantastic Italian wines. We have now visited this restaurant twice in half a year, and both times it delivered performances of the highest level. Optimal enjoyment of Italian cuisine, in a ‘craftsmanship’ atmosphere, excellent wines for every budget, and a particularly warm welcome. Thanks to the...
Read moreThe thing we love about Denia the most & we’ve been coming here 21 years, is the food.
Cantina Italiana is now on our favourites list. You can feel the love that has been put into this place from the warm welcoming smile of the waitress to the expansive wine list, to the quality of the food.
Oh the food! We shared thinly sliced porchetta on lamb’s lettuce to start, pumpkin ravioli with butter sage an hazelnuts, followed by ossobucco and rounded off with a panna cotta with a glass of Prosecco 😋
I don’t want to write war & peace here, but suffice it to say every course was faultless, full of love and delicious.
Loved the fact that you could buy wine by the glass in 3 different quality levels so we could indulge with a different taste for every course!
Well done to...
Read moreExtremely bad service. We were very excited after reading some reviews. After we asked the waiter a few questions about the menu, he told us in a very rude way that the menu is the menu even though he was talking about pasta's that were not on the menu. After this everything got worse. The meals were very little (4 ravioli for €16). He did not ask us if everything was alright, he grabbed the empty plates off the table without saying a word. I have never experienced such a bad service. Even though it was just this 1 waiter because the others were nice but because of him I would never go...
