Went to the restaurant a couple of days ago. First server did not have the patience with us as we don’t speak Spanish.. passed us down to another server, who was nice but by accident spilled a big glass of beer over us and the table (again, accidents do happen). Got seated to another table and got our first server back. She was ‘nicer’ this time. Were told drinks are for free due to the spill. Kids ordered children’s menu which said: all kids meals include a surprise dessert. When almost done we asked for the check. The server did not offer the dessert (as if did not exist and wasn’t part of the meal). When got the check it INCLUDED ALL DRINKS, even the spilled one!!. The server was looking at us, she knew that she not only skipped the kids’ dessert but added the promised drinks onto the check. I wanted to clear the situation but my husband told me to leave it, it was not worth the aggravation. Food was ok ( though kids’ bolognese was an over salted can tomato purée over the pasta, no meat, plain and it was terrible.. side dishes micro sized. If money, good food and service is important do...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming to El Baril for a while and always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere. There is a good sized outside patio and a cozy indoor dining room with fireplace for chilly nights. The mixed salad and a tomato-mozzarella salad are both delicious and fresh. Bratkartoffeln and boiled potatoes are my personal favorite. Also enjoyed sauerkraut and spaghetti bolognesse dining in or taking to-go. My husband likes grilled salmon and a cold beer. Highly recommend and...

We were served on our last visit by Alessandro (apologies for any spelling errors!) who was very friendly and efficient and I noticed he kept an eye on all the terrace tables to ensure customers had what they want.
The terrace has been extended into the terrace of the adjoining restaurant that has closed down and, although close to a main road, the extended terrace is very atmospheric.
On our 2 visits we thoroughly enjoyed the meat and fish dishes we ordered and I look forward to another visit to El Barril on our return to the area later...
