Restaurante Origen Denia — Restaurant in Dénia

During our recent trip to Dénia, we found ourselves with some free time in the early evening and decided to stop at this restaurant for dinner. We had heard good things and were eager to see if it lived up to the reviews. Overall, we had a very enjoyable meal with a few standout dishes, though there were some minor drawbacks.

One of the highlights of the meal was the chicken Caesar salad, which was easily one of the best I’ve had in Spain. The portion size was incredibly generous, making it perfect for sharing or as a satisfying meal on its own. The balance of flavors was spot on, with fresh, crisp lettuce, a well-seasoned dressing, and tender, flavorful chicken. It was a pleasant surprise and definitely a dish I’d recommend.

We also ordered the steak and breaded chicken drumsticks, both of which were cooked beautifully. The steak was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the chicken was equally well-prepared. One thing to recommend would be the addition of garlic sauce to accompany the buffalo sauce. The seasoning and preparation made both dishes stand out, and we thoroughly enjoyed them.

The only slight disappointment was the octopus, which was a little tougher than what we had enjoyed at other similar restaurants during our trip. While it had a nice flavor, the texture wasn’t as tender as we had hoped, making it less enjoyable than the other dishes.

We didn’t order dessert on this occasion, as we were quite full from the generous portions of our main courses. However, the overall experience was positive, with good food and a nice atmosphere.

So, would we return here? Absolutely. Despite the minor issue with the octopus, the other dishes more than made up for it, and we’d be happy to dine here again...

By chance after a walk in the beautiful old part of Denia, we noticed this charming small restaurant Gastrobar Origen. The location of this business is very idyllic and quiet with a beautiful view of a charming inner square. The presented dishes served caught our attention and after reading the reviews on Google we ventured to visit this business. The staff is very attentive and friendly and my wife's food intolerances were certainly taken into account. The served dishes that we had ordered were very good and correct. The interior is also very cozy and warm with very comfortable chairs. In short, definitely worth repeating and very correct in terms of price. Definitely continue in this way and Origen will remain worthy of its name in Denia as a very correct Gastro Lounge bar that has existed for two years now where price and quality are...

What a great place , exceptional service , delicious food and atmosphere 😋 i was in search of grilled sea bass , but took Alberotos suggestion for another white fish ,( Covina?) it was delicious and done to perfection 🥰 my husband loves lamb shank and has not been happy with the flavor or texure here in spain , He absolutely loved it ! Also he asked for a replacement of veggies for rice , and then quickly said never mind ,its ok. To our pleasant surprise they made rice for him. They speek english very well , while i study spanish and do my best to communicate , i appreciate that the kind and helpful staff that took there time to help me with pronunciation.
