Disclaimer! This would be a clear 5/5 restaurant for the average restaurant and food enjoyer.
As for those who have been to India and to many Indian restaurants around the globe this is also a good option. I could just give the food a 5/5 but since this is my personal review, would it be really authentic when id do that? (Im still going to refrain from giving a rating out of 10) So here is my honest and detailed review:
When I ordered I shortly after received a papadam plate with 3 chutneys which confused me but the waiter told me that it was on the house, still a bit sceptical because on review said that this is a scam and that they had to pay for it afterwards. To my surprise it was completely free! The chutneys weren’t really to my liking and one of the papadams was a bit mushy. But can you really complain about free food? Certainly not! Would I recommend to order it by itself? No.
After about 10-15 minutes my food arrived. I ordered a chana masala, rice and garlic naan.
Chana masala: could have been more spicy, i ordered it very hot but it was only a medium to my liking (before you order it too spicy, I eat spicy food a lot and i would generally say they matched the spice amount pretty well for a restaurant in a western country.) other than that it was really good, it could have been a bit more “saucy” but thats just my preference, chickpeas were perfectly cooked. Definitely a perfect western abbreviation of chana masala.
Rice: perfectly cooked, nice taste and overall good, nothing too special but if you aren’t a rice enthusiast you wouldn’t notice anyways.
Naan: Probably the best Ive ate in a long time outside of India.
Stuff was really nice and always smiled, afterwards he asked me again if everything was good and seemed like he was generally interested in making this restaurant a better experience for customers, this is also why im writing this review!
TLTR: food good - probably a 5/5 for most, everything...
Read moreVisited on a quiet day, the service was exceptional, nothing too much trouble, and the food was very good. So glad to see such a lovely restaurant open even in the winter months. We had the Menu del día, 4 courses, at €14.95 pp. There’s a buffet bar on Sundays which we will be trying. We have since returned and I’m afraid were disappointed with the buffet provided. At €14.95 it is not a good deal as the curries available were all chicken and just the usual, ie madras, jalfresi, vindaloo, korma & tandoori chicken. We were hoping to try new dishes and flavours not just eat until we burst. Also, even though we weren’t late in the evening, most of the containers had barely any food in them, we had to scrape the bottom of the pans and the food was not hot. Undoubtedly being out of season had a lot to do with how much food can be economically put out, but at that price it should have been better. Highly recommended on a...
Read moreWe used this restaurant regularly under its previous name of ,"Sizzler ." We always enjoyed the food .The staff always friendly and polite . A few weeks ago we visited again and it was absolutely terrible and grossly overpriced compared to other restaurants in El Campello .We could not believe how small the portions were 5 tandoori prawns €12.90 What has happened ? The drinks too are overpriced . Also, the waiter is overbearing and repeatedly referred to me as ," Dear ." Not professional and very irritating. The Sunday buffet should be titled, " Find the meat." There isn't any ,just sauce . I am still pondering as to how we were given half a poppadom between two people. Lost us as customers .Far better Indian restaurants in El...
