Incredibly disappointing. Brel was recommended to us as a firm favourite. The ambience and staff are pleasant enough. Sadly the food just didn't hit the mark in any way. We ordered starters and mains and we left hungry. Every single dish had way too much sugar added, there was no balance of flavours, which were largely just sweet and the textures were all wrong. Overpriced and rather pretentious. I had calamari croissant which really was very unpleasant, and then had a salmon main which came on a bed of what I can only assume was potatoes puree, a starchy flavourless liquid. There were no vegetables, and no texture it was all just mush. My friends had different dishes and they all contained unpleasant amounts of sugar where sugar should not be a prevalent flavour. Read moreI am not sure how this place only has 4.3 stars on here (at the time of my review). Service was great, waiters spoke English (one waiter even spoke French). All the food we had was very tasty, especially the starters (cheese croquettes, artichokes with ham, gyozas, and beef meatballs in thai style curry sauce). Mains were also very good (steak tartare, lasagna), the pistachio pasta could have been salted a bit more, literally the only small complaint (we decided not to ask for more salt so this is partly on us). The place also looks cute (we were sitting on the covered terrace, which was great because there was a light but refreshing wind). Éramos 3 personas para una cena y pedimos todo a compartir
Pagamos ─ El coste de esta comida fue de 37€ por persona todo incluido y de 26€ por persona sin incluir las bebidas (vino, agua, cafés, cervezas, refrescos, copas…).
Comimos ─ De aperitivo nos ofrecieron (sin coste) una aceituna rellena de vermut solidificado 😍
─ Panes (1×3,50€). Lo pides y te lo cobran, bravo 👏
─ Croquetas de parmesano (3×2,20). La pedimos por que las conocíamos y no nos arrepentimos para nada, excelentes 😍🔝. .
─ Gyoza de pollo (1×10€). Riquísimas ❤️️❤️️👍 .
─ Chili soft crab (1×14,90€). Nos inclinamos por este plato pues nunca habíamos probado este producto y la verdad es que no me dijo absolutamente nada, ya que me parece un producto totalmente insulso. La salsa de chile magnífica ❤️️👍 tanto que pedimos pan para limpiar bien el bol.
─ Tataki de atún rojo (1×20€). Está como opinó Lucía, un poquito más tostado en el exterior nos hubiera gustado más… Pero al mojarlo con la salsa estaba realmente excelente.
─ Lasaña by Gregory (1×12,70€). Lo original de está lasaña es que está hecha con pasta wonton (me recordó mucho a la de tapas alicante) y que por encima lleva pesto. Plato rico 👍 y difícil de compartir.
─ Pedimos la tarta de limón (1×5,50€), la de el patito en su bañera que no solamente es una presentación excelente🔝 sino que además la tarta está muy rica.
─ Completamos con una mousse de chocolate belga (1×4,00€), muy buena, aunque me se me hizo la ración un poco escasa. .
Bebimos ─ Copa de fino (3€).
─ Botella de Emilio Moro crianza (1×25€). Tan rico como siempre..
─ Dos botellas de agua mineral grandes (2×3.5€).
Apuntes ☑️ La carta me resultaba más atractiva antes que ahora, eso no quita que todos los platos fueran de notable para arriba ya que Gregory es un excelente chef. ☑️ De lo probado ayer te recomendaría las croquetas y las gyozas de pollo. ☑️ Todas las salsas del Brel son magníficas.
