Restaurante Bernie's — Restaurant in el Campello

We visited the Indian owned ' English Style ' restaurant today for lunch. We haven't been for a while and we're surprised at how poor the food was. I had the medium sized fish and chips which was really thin no crispy batter and really overcooked. Eight chips and a spoonful of peas. Not worth just under 12 Euros. Even worse my companion ordered steak pie which came out solidly FROZEN!!! It shows not all their food is freshly made and no one had checked if it had been heated in the microwave. There were only 6 other diners eating so they weren't overly busy.My friend sent it back and decided not to eat there at all. I asked the Filipino waitress if she had told them in the kitchen. She said yes but no one cared to come out and apologise or offer an alternative. I know a lot of Brits like it but with so many choices in Campello we won't return. Very...

I have been going to Bernis while visiting El Campello for 5 years. I did notice a decline in the food this year e.g. lamb mince in lasagne, in moussaka yes but lasagne a big nono 🙁 Poor artificial mashed potatoes and tinned beef in ' homemade pie'. They do however do a good all day breakfast which I went for tonight. I was ignored for what seemed like an eternity as I didn't want to order drinks and obviously drinks are the bigger profit margin. When I complained I was asked to leave 😳 Thank you very much, l don't think that's the dream Berni had, his daughter treating loyal customers in such an appalling way. We certainly won't be back!
